Finally got a game again, playing at the Camborne School of Mines Presidents v Captains XI- just a bit of fun to end the year of the 'new' club.

Made a magnificent golden duck, but did take a catch and needed just one ball to finish the game off. (More fluke than anything). More importantly, it suggests I'm going to be bowling a lot tomorrow!

I'll take 1 for 0 off 0.1 though!

Well not that great hopefully the ultra sound will reveal tht the  liver  cists will be non dangerous they were only revealed  by an unrelated CT scan for back Pain.
But pleased and relieved  to get away from the club which took my annual subs and then told me the next day after I had prepared the facilities for Saturdays match   that my opportunities to play would be limited and they then select players who  do nothing for the club   just turn up  play and fail. Did consider asking for my subs back as the club would have known before I handed money over my opportunities would be limited but decided not to have any more contactWith these guys.

If i had been available Could have played today as an emergency signing but I'll  back with my old team mates next week which I am looking foreward to will probably get a bit of lighthearted banter over leaving.
Only downside is that I will be paying double annual Subs This season.
Still for me the season starts next Saturday.

I f-ing hate cricket!

I was somehow on charge of the 2nd XI at the start of play today, lost the toss and got put in. We made 259-6 with our number 4 getting 111 and our number 5 getting 68. So far so good, or so we thought.

The opposition chased it down for the loss of 3 wickets with 15 overs to go!

Half decent day today for me personally but not for the team. Scored 23 and blocked up an end for an hour, mostly with fours as we tried to stave off a collapse. Sadly it was the second highest score for the team.

Bowling was, well, interesting. Whilst i didnt get hit particularly badly, the number of balls dropping n between fielders was high as a result of having nine men thanks to batting injuries.

We lost, spectacularly. But never mind. I enjoyed myself...

Played at Sudbourne Hall today, a rather lovely ground with the pavilion set up high and a walk down some steps to the pitch, only downside was recently cut grass still on outfield but nothing major. Won the toss and we batted first, opened up and scored 77 which was the top score, ran my opening partner out unfortunately but had two 80+ partnerships with bats 3 and 5 and we got to 259 with out number 6 hitting 50 not put off 20 balls with last 4 balls of the innings going for 6.

In reply they never tried once we got the 2 openers out and batted there way to 149-7 off there 45. Took 1 catch and a very smart stumping if I do say so myself. Cricket is going well as that's 22 sat league games unbeaten for us now and sitting pretty at top of the league.

After being questioned as to why I'm an all rounder on fantasy cricket, think I silenced the doubters on my 1s comeback after 2 years out the side.
Batted 8 after we won toss and batted. Lost 3 early wickets, then another 3 quickly a while later. Put on two decent partnerships as I made 40, top score of the innings and triple my previous best in the 1sts, out of 183ao.
Got 3/45 in the oppos chase as we bowled them out 7 short. Seamer got a 6fer including clean bowling 3 bats in one over, then I took a catch to break a partnership for his 5th. Brought back with 4 to take, had a two wicket over with a c&b, my first that has stuck for years and a decent one handed dive as well, and a plum lbw plus a drop at mid off. One of our colts then took a spectacular boundary catch in front of the pavilion whilst receiving a barrage of verbals from the opposition back in the hutch already.
In midweek made 0* off 2 and got 2/6 in 4 legit balls.

Terrible day - they were a poo bowling side and we knocked up 230 for 4 off our 40 overs.

Unfortunately they seemed to be a rather good batting side, and in a huge outfield we struggled to hold them back as they batted all the way down, and we lost with them 8 wkts down and 4 balls to go.

BUGGER! (good game of cricket though!)

I genuinely hate winning losing draws.

Batted first and made 131 for 8 from 40 overs,
Tough pitch good bowling.
Ideally we were about 25,35 short on first reckoning

Bowling wise we had them 3-1 15-3, then at the end 77-9,
They proceeded to bat out the last 6 overs not an aggressive shot in sight.
Truly and utterly frustrating,
I bowled 8 overs 3 maidens 1 for 16 could have 2 or 3 but a dropped catch tough chance and an inside edge did for me.

So we got a winning draw,

Batting wise I used my you B3 and made 25, going rather well till I went back to one that stayed low very low.

Good day in the end just disappointed not to win outright

Team batted well, then bowled badly and so lost sadly but at least we got a non rain affected game in. I am however scratching my head on how to deal with crappy, medium plod that's just full of a length and on off stump time after time.. Pace I'm good at, spin I'm good st... Crappy medium plod.. Just can't score against it if it's deadly accurate and have no idea what to do.

Meh, oh well.l luckily RR isn much of that around as most bowl quick which is ,inch more enjoyable

If you can't take the wickets then you don't deserve to win. Hence winning draws.. Bette than win lose that gifts bowlers wickets. More skill and tactics required. Enjoy it

We took on the league leaders yesterday and on an awkward home track put in comfortably our best bowling and fielding display of the season to bowl them out for 68, yours truly even clung onto a decent catch in the gully. We made heavy weather of getting the runs, and I suffered an excruciating stay at the crease in which I literally couldn't hit it off the square, ended when I was run out by the bowler deflecting a drive onto the stumps as I backed up. On any other day that might have really p***ed me off but it felt like a merciful release. Anyhow, we unexpectedly find ourselves top of the table this morning.
