I played their 2s when I first joined Taplow and they were horrid then. Sounds like it runs through the club if the 1s are like that too. You reckon they'll be relegation candidates at end of the season? Also, are we the only ones who are baffled by the fixtures this year?! In 2 weeks time we'd have played 3 sides twice yet haven't played others at all.

Binfield are a decent bunch of lads, probably the most socialable bunch too after a game. They've got their uni lads back so were stronger than when we faced them first game of the season.

We can't really say much as they rolled us on Saturday but their bowling attack isn't great. They're missing Matt Hayman, who is the best bowler in the league in my opinion, but they don't have much after the opening pair. Batting is decent but like most sides in the league they're prone to self destructing and getting themselves out.

I haven't played their 2s but our 2s said they were a bit rubbish when they played them.

Their 2s have always been up for a bit of aggro when I've played them. Fixtures have definitely been weird so far, 1s had Pinkneys first week of the season and last weekend so done there already! Binfield 2s have 16 points from 5 games (1 abandoned lost 4), with Kingshill 9th on 24 with five losses. Our 2s are 8th on 62 (2/3 win/loss) so a decent chance to gain some ground if we can get a team out!

Your 2s were decent when I played them 3 years ago or so, although you had a few first teamers playing as it was their week off.

At your place last year your 1s had an offy from your 2s playing who I thought was a good bowler. He opened up with your usual number 11 (not Cross as he wasn't playing) and he bowled really well.

We've done Binfield this season, next week we'll have done Littlewick for season then following week likewise with Wraysbury!

Dilemma time for me. Made a mess of my knee last weekend and after a trip to MIU was told that I've done some damage to my MCL and not play for the next few weeks at least. It's still swollen and a range of fantastic colours despite days of icing, compression and painkillers added to that a lack of movement and pain.

However, my new team only have 10 and it's a game against my old team. Both teams make up 2 of the bottom 4 in the division. Any other fixture I'd have ruled myself out 100%, but I'm very tempted to play as it's a crucial match.

I know what the sensible and mature choice is...but...

I tore my ACL in the same way, sliding for a ball and my knee dug in. Didn't even know I had done it until an op a year later as an MRI showed up a miniscus tear and significant tendonitis. Although my knee didn't bruise as much as yours, I played every week for the remainder of the season,  Although I was pain free by the following week's game. Still have the tear but after nearly a years worth of physic and leg strengthening I only get pain now and again.

It's one of those difficult ones, but given the state of the bruising and pain/restricted movement, I would be inclined to give it another week. If you damage it further, you could be looking at an op/reconstruction which would be the season gone. Try and get the doc to refer you for an MRI

For god's sake don't do it mate. I've been dealing with chronic knee pain for 12 years now, it's horrible and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I'm a 29 year old cripple as a result of poor choices like this when I was younger. Look after your knees folks.

As an old bloke I can tell you this: all those little dings and nicks, that you thought you had got away with at the time, will revisit you later in life. You will get arthritis in one finger - quite random - then you will recall that tough chance that you put down years ago that felt as if it had done some damage to that same finger, but you were able to play through it.
The more severe the injury, the sooner will come retribution.
Loads of advice saying don't risk it.
Take that advice.
I used to play sport through all sorts of crap.
Woke up one night with terrible pain in one knee, bad enough to go to the emergency docs the next morning.
Was booked in for an xray and expected some minor cartilage damage - it came back as early onset arthritis at age 40.

Got beat today, on a crap green wicket
We got put into bat after losing toss and we're all out for 117
Oppos knocked it off for 5 wickets

I got 37, felt in half decent nick, after taking a bit more off my bat,got it down to 2.7 now, and it's meant I can play cuts a lot easier, and get my hands through shots a lot better, felt a lot more confident
I'd not realised how much batting strength I've lost with the golfers/tennis elbow

Terrible day all round. All out for 102 on a slow turning wicket. Oppo knocked the runs off within 20 overs for 1 wicket.

I seem to be finding new ways of getting out every week. This time I was LBW to a half tracker that bounced twice and kept low under my attempted pull shot.

Cricket. So frustrating.

Cracking game today, sadly i got 1 but we won. Set 210 and bowled them out for a win. Our opener was bowled but the bowler cliped the stumps for a no ball and went on to hit 70+ (jammy git). Lots of rule checking followed.

We batted first, 163 all out on what I'll generously describe as "a 2 paced wicket".

Oppo got it 4 down with 13 overs to spare.

On a personal note I couldn't get bat on ball and I feel like I've forgotten how to bowl.

I hate cricket...

Finally won a match on Saturday. Bowled 7 tidy overs at the end of an innings going for just 18 runs and picked up a couple of wickets. We then knocked off 138 with around 5 overs to spare. Opposition had a Yorkshire Ladies player who was clearly a class act but after getting around 20, she perhaps got a bit too greedy and skied the ball which was thankfully caught by the bowler. Match could have been very different if I was underneath it !!
