Played on a terrible astro up in Dafen Welfare, Llanelli yesterday.

Lost the toss put into bat first, which isn't ideal as we're not a strong batting side and with there only being one new ball for the game we were at a disadvantage from the start. Terrible start as our 15 year old opening bat, who is in fine form was run out for 3 in the third over. Batting at 6 I found myself in in the 12th over at 50-4, managed to hit 15 with two loverly fours driven down the ground one over the bowlers head before getting out trying to flick on down leg and getting a top edge. Some one please tell me how to stop trying to flick the ball off my legs!

Not much with the ball 2.1-1-5-0 before they chased down our poor 88 for 5 down!

Poor day of cricket from both teams on a very poor pitch. Surely, the cricket board should inspect these artificial wickets as there were more craters under the strip than on the moon.

Nice one, I was batting when your 2s got back last season. Opened up and scored a slow 60 odd not out to see us home.

Good result for you guys, Binfield decent side but lacking a bowler or two. Must admit I was surprised when I saw the result via twitter! I can just imagine his reaction when he was dropped to the 2s haha!! He started hitting a golf ball around the boundary last year and then in the big grounds opposite your pavillion for most of your innings. And yes I believe I'm playing, no idea what side is like but would imagine it will be a mix of 1s and 2s.

We beat Denham yesterday. Don't have the worst bowling side in league but their batting line up is really poor. I'd be amazed if there are 2 worse sides than them in the league this year. That being said, didn't stop me from getting my second duck of the season opening up, hopefully I'll have a similar response to the last one where I got a ton the following week :)

We're struggling to work out who will go down with Denham. We haven't played Pinkneys yet but reckon Coleshill have enough to survive. Maybe Littlewick?

Haven't really looked the table, but id be surprised if Littlewick go down after winning the league last season.
Denham are reliant on Faisal, 50 wickets last season but the fact he plays at Denham, probably the most unpredictable ground in the Chilterns league, helps him a lot. Pinkneys have a decent bowling attack but their batting just tries to smash everything, not many proper shots played!
Apparently Paresh, on receiving the 2s team email, replied within a minute saying he was unconfirmed and was taking a few weeks off. Got told by text he was going down, in my book that's not great from the skipper.

Yes they rely heavily on him, decent bowler but as you say their ground helps him a lot. I think Littlewick will survive but only just. They were a 2 man side last year and both of them have gone to Wargrave. Their captain and guy called Rana in the middle order will need to score runs as their bowling line up isn't that strong with Arsalan and Waqas.

Sounds like Paresh would fit in well with some of the prima donnas we have haha! Skip should have told him face to face or by phone mind, poor form via text as you said.

3rd game of the season for me yesterday, and my bowling has been getting steadily better with every game.

Was an overcast and humid day so got the ball swinging nicely, almost too much sometimes, ended with figures of 2 for 15 off 13.

They posted a total of 107 for 9 in their overs, and we knocked them off in 26 overs for 5. I didn't get a bat though which was the only disappointment in a great days cricket.

First "proper" game of the season today, little 20 in a 70+ stand on a ropey track. Posted 210 and had them all out for 150.

Got to swing around a new Kelsall and Robert James bat, both were really really nice.

I've had a better start to the season than some of my team mates so i can't complain but if it makes anyone feel a bit better he's how my Saturday went.

Had to pick up an ID card on the way to the game-late getting it.
A team mate who is 'high maintenance' asked for a lift to the match -late picking him up
North circular trip(my least favourite road in the world)
Passenger team mate spend the journey complaining about everything and anything to do with the club.
Brain frazzled by the time we arrived at the ground-late
Rushed to get ready - dunno about anyone else I like to get to the game an hour before the start to relax
We were 20-3 when I went in not ready to bat got a good ball and stumps were everywhere first ball duck
Problem team mate asked to borrow my (only) bat, hit 60 and the bat split in two horizontally-it (was) an absolute beauty.
Oppo umpire decided to give us no decisions despite the plummest lbw s ever.we lost the match.
Journey back even worse than journey there.
Got back to my home club to find lots of advice 'really....never lend your bat to anyone else'
Finally got home after dropping of problem team mate at 1030 pm with 'I can see your upset about the bat-sorry'
Went to bed

Cricket I still love it.

 :) :)

I got plenty of bats mate more than happy to lend you one of mine

Got talked into playing a 1st XI cup match which was a complete waste of an afternoon. Load of talk in the pub last night about how I was needed as the second spinner but in the end I had to practically beg for a bowl (came on for 34th over out of 40 !!!) and should have had opposition's century maker caught in my first over but fielder not only dropped a reasonably simple chance, he kicked it over the boundary for good measure. Got a wicket in my 2nd over then skipper brings back opening bowler. Thanks for coming.

Another 65 for me today, already exhausted from yesterday.. shame the test match-esque average has now dropped to mid-eighties. Definitely on for my best season so far :D not going to complain

Mixed game at the weekend. Had a great opening partnership with team captain on a really nice batting track only to run myself out short of mandatory retirement score. We posted a strong total and 2 amazing balls (one textbook inswinger clipping off and the second an inswinger that cut out for a good slip catch) took out their key batsman which kind of ended the game.

Slightly disappointing that it wasn't a more balanced game as they were missing one of their best all rounders but I got my best score in 3 seasons despite volunteering to play out of position as opener. The other disappointing thing was the end of the 'catches win matches' maxim. We dropped loads. seems its bucket loads of runs that win matches on this display.

Had two wins at the weekend, Saturday we got put in on what was a slightly moist track, and we got bowled out for 144 and bowled the oppo out for 99, I got 2-20 off 5.
Sunday, I was captaining and much to my teams disgust I decided to bowl first, postage stamp of a ground and kept the oppo to 240 which was a great success, I bowled 10 overs, 1-68. We then proceeded to chase it down in 37, our over seas made a lovely 122

In swinging, seaming, and wet conditions, I carried the bat. My first. I am just thrilled.  :)

How many did you get mate?

I'm guessing 15* in a T20  ;)

Lost to Taplow tonight. Ended 120 odd for 9 chasing 151/4.
Took 2/37 from four eight ball overs. Strangely all three of our spinners went for 37 off 4 overs.
Got a second ball duck going in 7 in the 14th over, flashed at a wide one and nicked behind, first wicket of a hat trick as it happened.
Means we can focus on the league, and let Taplow take on Penn who got 246 from their 15overs tonight...

Think it's Denham or The Lee, then Penn in regional final. You see Harpsden scored 290, one guy got 166! Your first wicket was with a filthy as ball haha!
