I agree, it was filthy. Millsy should have done better though! Harpsden are ridiculous, some of csg don't like them but I think they're a nice bunch but very serious about their cricket. Wasn't Sam Imlay with the runs was it?

6 inches higher and it was probably a 4 as he had disected the 2 boundary riders out there pretty well. We thought we were only around par yesterday, our running between the wickets was poor and even with 8 wickets in hand we didn't take on the arm as much as we should have done - especially as it's not exactly a small ground! Thought your guys ran well and was expecting a close finish until the change bowlers strangled things in the middle and picked up a cluster of wickets.

Our 2s said Harpsden were a decent enough bunch of lads. Millsy reckons they'd be a solid mid-table side in div 1 as their change bowling is lacking but their batting is fine. Guy called H Cary got their runs, don't think he's played every week but he didn't play on Saturday against our 2s. Most of them have played for Henley at some point so will be interesting to see if any of the current Henley boys who play for Harpden on Sundays come across to them next season.

we play Harpesden at the end of every season, they are indeed a good bunch, some very good cricketers indeed and too good for our friendly side. It's a lovely ground and a very enjoyable day out for those of us stuck in the grim of London.
If you know the ground one of our bowlers 2 years ago got hit straight, over the netting, over the road and it landed in the golf club.Which by my reckoning is MASSIVE!

interesting fact..not 100 per cent sure it's true but apparently there is no pub in in the village because the person who owns everything and paid for everything there(or did I presume) did not want any alcohol anywhere.....
and that still stands today.... I believe.  :)

That is a massive hit! I knocked one over that boundary so 70odd metre hit last season, but that is a good 100m into the golf club!
They definitely have a bar there, we were basically gatecrashing their promotion party last season when we played there.
Taplow were decent last night, not as strong a showing as we feared, but Yaya is a handy find to say the least. Farhaan is going to be a very good spinner, bowled very well in the league against us and did again last night

Yaya is good when he gets it right. He is quicker than last night as his run up was limited but he arguably bowled better than he has done so far this season as he appeared to have more control. He has a very good yorker as a few of your guys found out. Farhan will be very good, we'll only have him for one more season I reckon before he goes to Burnham. We were missing a handful of first teamers last night but Farhan and Millsy aren't bad 2nd teamers to call up! Guessing you had a mixture of 1s and 2s as there were a few guys I didnt recognise?

Yesterday was largely 1sts, but we had 2 2s players and a couple who go between the two teams. Yaya's first ball certainly made Rio jump, good lift from a 12 yard run up! We were missing three of our quick bowlers, but seeing as we mostly bowled spin that doesn't matter. Farhaan is very sneaky and really difficult to get away, doesn't turn it much but flights it well and from the other week looks a good, compact batsman.

Had a training session tonight and I want to give up!

Fielding was okay, without being magnificent. I took a few catches and stopped almost everything cleanly, but that's probably the only positive I can take from my session.

I thought I was bowling okay but the 5th XI number 11 was smacking me to all parts. Whatever I tried he was still despatching it, if ever there was anything to shatter your confidence it's that  :(

As for batting, I still feel as if I couldn't hit a beach ball! I snicked off the first team opening bowler, but other than that I barely got bat on anything. Once again the seamers decided to bowl short knowing I'd bust my thumb batting once this year, so I got to practice getting out the way if I'm really scraping the barrel.

T20 last night. Batted first and lost our opener in first over on what must have been the lowest bouncing wicket in ever played on but outfield was rapid. Went in at 4 and managed 17 before the shooter came. Was also using my a plus with bits high middle lol which wasn't great but when I got a full toss it went distance. Got ourselves to 155 with a very strong batting g line up

Bowling wise we were a bit lighter and I managed to bag a 4 over spell, first bowling of the year purely as I refused to break my fingers keeping on that low deck especially against s couple of our quicks who are are genuine quick and got 2-23 both bowled bit pitch was a big help

Really hate it when a pitch has such a big effect on results. Anyway we won by 30 odd runs

Woke up yesterday and couldn't see out of half of my right eye which when batting is my front eye being left handed  so rang our local hospital eye clinic who referred me to Birmingham City Hospital arrived there 3 hours later after a further 3 hour wait told that the gel holding the eye and the retina together had disintegrated and was blocking my vision and if it gets worse to return and the holes where the gel was will be filled using a laser got back home at 7pm last night.
Still intend  to play on Saturday due to only played 4 matches  so far this season

Didn't add to my T20 batting tally last night due to batting at 7 in a 10 wicket win but did get my T20 league wicket haul up to 14 from 7 games so far with a nice 4-18 with my dodgy off spinners :D

Didn't know if  to sell the bat to a team mate or remove weight so Decided on Sunday to remove 3oz of  my Kaboom by sanding decided to concentrate  on the toe area Managed to get all the stickers off in one piece using an air dryer and pulling the stickers  across the grain after an hour of hand sanding and avoiding the spine realised that i would have to sand half the bat to get the desired weight  after 4 hours sanding keeping the concaving even  and avoiding the spine the pick up felt right only thing is the toe is really skinny half its a original thickness hope I dont hit a Yorker on Saturday as it will be Kaboom for the bat!

Beaten by 9 runs at the weekend, had to come in number 11 and bat 1 handed due to damaging my elbow diving for a catch early on in the 1st innings and losing all movement in it due to the swelling but managed 2* off 3 balls with some tip and run. Swelling is just subsiding now but still not got 100% movement back with pain when I get to the limits , unfortunately looks like no cricket on Saturday but i'm thinking of making myself available for the Cup semi final on the Sunday.

@Seniorplayer how skinny is really skinny?

Bats of yesteryear didn't have massively thick toes and I can't recall them going any more frequently than modern bats. You may be pleasantly surprised by the durability
