@Seniorplayer how skinny is really skinny?

Bats of yesteryear didn't have massively thick toes and I can't recall them going any more frequently than modern bats. You may be pleasantly surprised by the durability

Yesterday was largely 1sts, but we had 2 2s players and a couple who go between the two teams. Yaya's first ball certainly made Rio jump, good lift from a 12 yard run up! We were missing three of our quick bowlers, but seeing as we mostly bowled spin that doesn't matter. Farhaan is very sneaky and really difficult to get away, doesn't turn it much but flights it well and from the other week looks a good, compact batsman.

Farhan is good now, he'll be a lot better when he grows a bit taller. He played in the 1s on Saturday and bowled well, took a wicket at a key moment when 8th wicket partnership was about 50. He's also a good bat, very good technique wise but doesn't have the strength as yet. One flaw he has is taking a middle or middle/off guard and then walking across his stumps.

That doesn't sound tiny to be fair, I'll measure my old chases when i get in which I imagine will have been made with similar dimensions

Got a decent score for the first time in a few weeks - 42 off 23 in a losing t20 chase against @Ayrtek's club. Other than one walk across the stumps and swing to leg, all proper shots too, quite pleased. Glad to score some runs aa I haven't been able to buy them recently despite feeling like I'm in really good nick with the bat. Backs up what was said recently about form and staying at the crease long enough to find our whether you're in form or not!

Finally got some runs under my belt. Chasing 130 in a 16 over game I came in at the end of the 8th over with us on 65. Got out off the last ball of the 13th for 47 with us needing 6 to win. 4 sixes including one out the ground over the sight-screen. Felt good to just forget about pressure and be able to go out and swing the bat.

Good Win against AIW today. Fairplay to AIW's players who were all on ramadam so couldn't eat/drink on a really humid day!

2/3's both called off due to rain sadly.

1's we skittled a team for 130. They didn't take a wicket until only 3 needed and it was me. They'd gobbed off all game and given the game was won I just teed off (once I'd got 50 of course and the other opener had his 50)and slogged a few runs. Got out as I missed a ball, heard stumps (didn't hear he keeper take it or anything) so walked off towards the pavilion. Confusion reigned and as I was nearly off the umpires said 'he shouldn't be out as he can't be out as get he was out so left his crease etc'... I couldn't care less by then so just said 'call it stumped' amd walked off.

Horrible horrible team and game and very different to when we payed their firsts last year in the cup final who were an awesome bunch.. They chatted but it was good chat rather than just toilet drivel. Sad signs for the game

Bitter sweet day today.

We had a weak first team out today and played a team who's average age was probably half ours. It ended up with a draw, our batsmen were poor and I had to block out the last 3 overs to protect our last 2 bats, so faced 10 balls for 1 run - totally against my usual style of play but at least it was a n.o

I had a pretty good day bowling though, 14 overs, 36 runs and 3 wickets. Some good swing and bounce, went past the bat more times than I can remember and I'm not particularly quick. Took a bit of hammer in last couple of overs when their middle order realised they didn't have many on the board, real cow corner stuff so need to work on my 'death' bowling technique a little.

Also 'twanged' the ligaments in one of my knees moving sideways sharply in the field, starting to ache a bit now so having some medicine to make it better (the chilled 5% kind) 😉

Oh... That kind of medicine. Side effects are falling down and delusions of grandeur?

Another day, another emphatic win for the mighty 3s on another ropey track. Happy to say I contributed, anchored a century opening stand, making a hard-fought 32 with the ball doing all sorts. A good net during the week paid off. After a bit of a middle order collapse we still got to 220, which was far too many, we rolled the oppo for 60-odd and I took a skyer to finish it.

Posted 198 in 50 overs today and had the oppo 9 down in a tense affair in west London. Got 39 no which is good. 10 more runs and I will be past last years total -2015 was really that bad.
On the minus side had trouble bending down after about 90 overs and tried to stop one in the gully with my boot, it shot up and hit flush on the ankle bone.

Oh come on.....don't tell me no one else has done that?
