Birthday win for me today!

Posted 280-7 batting first. Our opener with a 50 (think he got 72) and our number 4 with 95

Oppo ended 264-9
One of our bowlers with a 4 fer and I took 1-61off 10. My figures aren't great but I bowled a decent spell at the death when they needed to do at 8s and 10s. Good to get a first wicket under my belt personally and a first win of the season

I then had a drink or 10 to celebrate my birthday so I'm rather jolly right now

Oh dear, Cam + beers + Internet usually means we can expect a "look what I bought off eBay" review in about 3 days time 😉

I hope it turns out to be  a nice one......

Played yesterday got rained out halfway through the oppos innings, with them needing 142 to win.
I offered to have a slip and slide off to decide a winner but they declined, then spent 2 1/2 hours in traffic on the way home.

Newly promoted into the Premier Division this season and after 2 very close games in the last couple of weeks, finally got the first win under our belt yesterday.

We got 224/5 and bowled them out for just over 100, although they batted 40 overs! 53 not out for me to follow up 59 not out last week. Nice to feel in half decent form at last.  :D

Winning draw
We made a good 178 from all our overs
They started well two bad drops before we made a break through with them on 50 ish then they almost collapsed just past 100
We have them 9 down but lost about 6 overs to rain so possibly could have won.
As for me I made 7 out double hitting the ball sounds crazy and it is
High full toss took me by complete surprise hit it thought yes looks a good shot then the bat followed my hands up and I hit it again spooning to mid off instead of going for your,
Bowled the last over of the game finished 1-1-0-1 no to shabby

Follow up to yesterday's post.

My head hurts a bit, and (un)fortunately there was nothing on eBay that caught my eye!

Hmmmmm,  we were weak yesterday, and we rolled over an even weaker side through the rain breaks.

We got 160-8 on a dead old pitch, which turned out to be a mighty good effort as we knocked them over for 69. I opened the bowling (!!!!!!!!) and bowled 9 overs 3-29.

Unfortunately, it;s still a rollercoaster ride and I'm yipping furiously, mixing some jaffas with some awful fayre. If anyone has any info on overcoming the yips, send it to me, I need your help now!!

1 wicket win plaging for the 1st's yesterday. Oppo batted first and scored 163, our spinners controlled the game to tie them down. I opened the bowling and my first spell was dirty. Came back at the death and didnt concede a boundary, plus picking up 1 wicket.

We were 60 odd for 6 at one point, I came in at 9 with 50 still needed. Me and number 8 put on 30 or 40 together. I eventually got out with 2 needed trying to work a ball on the stumps through mid wicket, bugger. I think I got 15.

Captained yesterday and we got beat
Bowled oppos out for 150 in the rain, only had 9 men to start, as one lad was working late and another couldn't get into the ground because there was a music festival on.

Anyway, we batted shoite and dint really get near their total, despite some shoite bowling.
We had another three bad decisions go against us again, after the same last week, really getting me down, as these panel umpires are dire,(can't even count the balls!) it's really making me just want to throw the towel in.
They just want the money and an early finish

My batting was going ok until I was given run out, the bats unreal now I've got the weight down to 2.7, and shaved a bit of the handle
Drove first ball of the innings back to their skipper fielding close in, and seriously thought I'd broken his leg

Winning draw, should have won but we dropped too many catches. Was 9 i think? I got 99* being stranded with a guy who couldnt rotate strike and i ran out of balls.

So close to a victory vs top of the league Penn and Tylers Green. From 21/3 off 8 we ended 231/3 from 35. Skipper smashed a rapid ton and young all rounder got 96.
Got taken for 33 off my first 3 overs, two good and one awful, before we took the new ball. Came back with 4 to go and took 2/1/1/2 from my second spell, knocked a stump out the ground with a quicker ball, then between bat and pad via little edge from another. Penn number 8 blocked out last over from our other leggie, with them 139/9 from 31 so a strong winning draw.
Missed a chance to run out opener in the fourth over, and as x-rays showed this afternoon I managed to break a finger doing so. At least it is not my bowling hand.

Good result that for you guys, and also for us too. I see Johnny Hughes opened the bowling for them, which I don't think he's done all season. He's quite sharp but looks like he might have been a tad erratic looking at his figures?

We beat Littlewick. Assuming Christie Green plays rest of the season then they're a one man team with the bat and he'll get wickets as he's got a bit of pace with the new ball. We were all out for 161 having collapsed from 120-3 to 125 or so for 8. I got 28 opening up before looping a cut to point. I felt sorry for their other opening bowler who was bowling big in duckers but was incredibly unlucky to end up wicketless.

Christie then scored a very nice 70 odd before being caught at long on with the score on 98. They then proceeded to be bowled out for 140. Was quite a tetchy game with lots of aggro. They were missing a few of their usual first team but speaking to Arsalan's brother (play cricket said Arsalan was playing but it's his brother) it sounds like they're struggling big time. Few guys won't play as they don't want to lose every week and couple of others not playing due to Ramadan.

Penn away next week for us in a 1st v 2nd encounter.

Jonny was very erratic. Bounced our 16yo bat, and it would have been a wide over my head so pretty high considering I'm 6'3. Lance bowled well and was unlucky to be wicketless, Hyde was good but the other bowlers were smashed out the attack by Benchy and Dan.
We have Waltham away next week, so hopefully a chance of points to keep us in contention.

Is the 16 year old Drage? Think he played against us last year and he looked very good but was quite small then. Has he got a bit stronger over the winter? Assuming it's who I'm thinking of then he will be a good bat. If Jonny bowls big wides on height then he might easily go for 6 wides at their place!

You should beat Waltham but they're an odd side. Nice bunch of lads but decent on paper who don't always play to their potential. At least not usually until August when they're in another relegation dogfight!
