Game off due to thunder, lightening & torrential rain. Currently in MacDonald's instead...

Yeah it's been biblical here too!
Maybe a good job they cancelled on us.

Would love a trip down Simon but the missus has booked us all down to Bournemouth
In fact , just checked the fixtures, we don't have a game for three weeks now?
Let me know Simon if your short

First hit with my B3. I think I'm in love. Flicked one just short of a six, ended up 18* as we got 113ao. Took a catch and two wickets as we bowled littlewick out for 64.

Went to watch my clubs 1st team today, and despite watching an excellent game of cricket, i was incredibly disappointed with both the umpiring and attitude of the opposition.

I'll start positively with the good game of cricket. The opposition were top of the Tucker Division before the game, and after winning the toss, batted first. They were cruising at 49-1 before losing 4 wickets in pretty quick succession, before eventually ending up all out for 151. My team lost a lot of middle order batsmen, but went into the 45th over 9 down needing 2 to win. Our number 11 got out LBW meaning they lost a very good game.

Now onto the negative: The umpiring was awful. Some very suspect LBW decisions including one that clearly pitched outside leg. One of their players hit a ball, remained in exactly the same position inside his crease, and the ball was thrown into the 'keeper and hit the stumps. The square leg umpire gave him out, and the lad just stood there in disbelief as he hadn't moved and was still inside his crease. The umpire then reversed his decision, there weren't any complaints from our first team as they understood how ridiculous it was.

Onto the even more negative, the attitude of the opposition. They had a lad playing who said he'd only started playing club cricket this year and was called into the first team as they were short. He wasn't brilliant and was out of his depth, but done them a favour by turning up and helping out. They slated him every time he made a fielding mistake and yet didn't hammer their more experienced players when they dropped simple catches. They literally appealed every single time the ball hit the pad. Didn't matter if it pitched well outside leg or was going well outside off. Every single time they went up and screamed at the umpires. They were warned twice and presumably there will be a report going in because excessive appealing doesn't quite cover it! Their opening bowler decided to constantly chat to our 16 year old opener who was called up from the 2's in place of our best player who has been averaging over 100 this year. I don't mind a sledge when it's funny, but shouting 'you've obviously been called up from the 2's because you're (No Swearing Please)' and ' why are you playing you're (No Swearing Please) terrible' is just abuse (The bowler ended up getting more annoyed when our opener just keep repeating what he said back to him) Our batsmen had to pull away several times as they wouldn't stop talking as the bowler was running in. But to make matters worse, one of their bowlers didn't get an LBW decision and at the end of the over snatched his hat back off the umpire and started walking to fine leg were i was sat with a few of our over 50s club members. He shouted 'f-ing blind c***' and kicked his hat to the floor. When one of our over 50's told him to have some respect, he told him to (No Swearing Please) off as well. It was a real shame as they had some good lads, but those who weren't were an embarrassment to cricket.

Full game and played in great spirit. Zero chat by either side at or about Oppos. Unfortunatly only the second game this year that was enjoyable as sledging has been horrendous this year for some reason.

235Ao played 205-9 so close enough to keep it interesting for everyone.

very enjoyable game today in spite of the weather - shortened to 25 overs, we batted first on a particularly wet ground but the square itself wasnt too bad - we set 158 for 7 with our no 3 making 76 and myself making 30 before being dismissed to a very good catch diving down to his right 3/4 of the way to the boundary. we restricted them to 116 and bowled and fielded very well - all in all a very good day and it is refreshing to be playing in a relatively sledge free environment.

Sledging a joke at the minute, whys it got so over the top?
Played a team a coupla weeks back, and this young idiot sledged me from the first ball!
Eventually I squared up to him, it was so bad, and said, what do you think I would do to you, if you came upto me in a pub and said half the stuff your shouting at me?
He just mumbled and stuttered, and said, well it's only Sunday cricket, a bit of fun?( it was a Saturday league game )
One of the comments was, 'ah everything's up in the air, one will fall to hands soon'
His captain shouted back at him,'well nothing has yet, and he's been batting twenty overs, and hit us all over the park,?"

Absolute bellend

7 wicket win to send us top again playing on the wettest track I've seen. That said bounce was true. Wasn't needed to bat again, making it four weeks without a hit 😕

Pitch inspection at 11. I've got a feeling today might be a washout too, as the square was under water yesterday...
