Played for my new school staff team yesterday in a t20. First game back since I broke my finger, took a catch and made three stumpings, plus 20 odd not out before the rain came. Needless to say we were on top throughout, also they had beers during lunch, amazing day!!

Basically retired from cricket! Had a mass falling out with my club over selection policies! And I've told them to stick it for the mean time!

Opened the batting in a 40 over Sunday friendly, Made 33 and my and the other opener out on about 90 for the first wicket, the other opener went on to get 90 (his first 50)

Glad to finally get some runs and felt really comfortable at the crease!
Longer I go on my game management at the crease is improving

Really pleased with today until the rain came <10 overs into the chase

7 wicket win for us on a really damp track, we bowled and fielded really well in awkward conditions, and then knocked it off with some ease.

Game only marred by some outrageous umpiring by the opposition skipper who turned down all LBW's and started handing out wides like confetti. It all made sense when we saw their bowling attack.

Needless to say, as the opposition skipper I was the bigger, more mature man and wasted no time in telling him what a disgraceful bellend he was and that he could pay for neutral umpires for the return fixture!

Had an interesting day yesterday. Forecast gave rain, which duly came an hour or so into the game.
While waiting for game to restart had a kickabout with football and managed to slip on wet grass, go horizontal - landed on my head and ended a bit woozy! Not required to bat and we put 192 on.

Opened the bowling, and 2nd ball managed to flick a straight ball back up and into my face - giving me another head injury and a grazed cheek! Took a couple of early wickets, which in combination with timed game meant they couldn't chase total and became a game of trying to take wickets.

Had an involvement in a once in a lifetime catch - stood at fine leg slip the batsman got a fine nick that dropped short. Somehow managed to get my foot under it and kick it up - it went over leg gullies head and he ran and took it one handed diving!

Lost our first game of the season today vs Haverhill. Amazed we played as chucked it down all morning but they have phoned our skipper to say they had no rain since yesterday and pitch was good. We had 10 players and our 2nd team got called off this morning and not one of the 2nd team would play to get us to 11!! Some words at AGM I hope.

Anyway lost toss and we bowled first, there openers went well early on with us bowling some dross and were 60-0 off 10 then we picked up both openers in 2 overs and spin started to show it was the way to go picking up number 3 with our leggies first ball ft behind by yours truly. This bought in a guy with a chiv chanderpaul style stance and akward trigger any way he scored 95 and must have swept or reverse swept 80. I kid you not he plays very good hockey standard we were told the rest chipped in and we bowls them out in last over for 259 which we were just about happy with

In reply myself and opening partner but on 50 in 7 overs until he fell to a leading edge and then N03 and I put on 87 until I played round one for 38 and we were 123-2 ended up 186 all out. Just needed a few more to get going but we were 3 batters light. Overall a good game but personally another pretty 30 odd with out going on to play the match winning knock

Personally a sucky weekend for me. Dropped 2 catches and missed a 50. Team ended up on the winning side despite my poor fielding .. That's some consolation  :D

One run win today over a league rival. Defended 191 with one of my u15s bowling the number 11 with them on 190.
Personally got 37 including a massive pulled six over mid wicket. Definitely enjoying my b3! Took 3/16 from my 8, one lbw, one caught and bowled and one bowled. My catch was smashed back at me and I started to go two handed but withdrew my left to protect my broken finger and it stuck in one hand.
Quite a stressful game as 7 of my team had played in the morning so were tired and messing about. Also stressful as I had to give a guy a game who frankly is nowhere near good enough to play senior cricket. I think it is dangerous to put him I the middle and have him bowling, but he's willing to play and I don't have great availability a lot of the time.

Last Wednesday I broke a finger on my left hand T work, and thought sod it I'll still play as our 2nd xi only had ten so Knew there wasn't a replacement.

Still ended up opening the batting, 12 overs 8 ball each, and for the first time ever I carried my bat!!

A miserly 46 was all I made, but off only 45 balls still means it's a striker rate that would upset @ProCricketer1982 ...........

This weekend, yeah rained off everywhere.
