2 wins in a weekend, taking my tally up to 3 for the season!

Played a T20 today, my side batted first and posted 178-6, I wasn't required to bat.

We won by about 3 runs, my contribution being 0-24 off my 4 overs. I may not have takena wicked but I was getting a bit of turn and finally feel like I'm in a rhythm when bowling.

Played today, we batted first and got off to a flyer 90-0 off 16, we then collapsed down to 206 all out, I contributed 20 off 8 balls.
And then they chased it down in 27 overs, I bowled 10 overs 5-45.

So won yesterday we posted 222-7 off 50 after being 4 down inside 15 overs! And bowled them out for 50! Took a wicket and scored 26... Not bad!

Today we batted first and usain bolt must have been running through the blood (or some sort of performance drug) as our no.1 scored 100 off 64 balls and retired no.3 scored 100 off 97 and out little pocket rocket at 12 years old scored 66 at around a run a ball! Ended up an embarrassing 311 in our 2.5 hours, the shear amount of runs wasnt planned and i did want both batsman to get to their tons if they could!

We then had them 9 down and they only blocked out the last 3 overs, with their no.1 making an unbeaten 95!

I didnt bat and took 3 wickets.

Not 100% yet but over two games I took 15.1-6-27-4 for the weekend. Won a tight one yesterday 140-8 v 127 on another dog of a wicket thanks to our groundsman not taking advice on prep. Looks lovely until you bat on it, slow low and painful to score on. Today's game was on a belter at Horley, took 8-3-12-2 on a good deck with a lighting outfield as we restricted them to 185-6 and watched our guys knock it off for 2. Would of loved a bat as I was getting pad rash at 5 :-)

Might just burn my kit! 2 ducks this weekend and bowled like an absolute drain. Anybody got any other summer sports they can recommend.

Bird watching, streaking?
How about cricket umpire?  ;)

Golf
That's even more frustrating! My current snapped driver shaft will attest to that!

Maybe streaking and bird watching as a combo? It's got a chance!!

absolutely do not take up golf unless you are over 60. Under no circumstances consider giving up cricket. You could do any or a combination of the following.

get in the nets and hit as many balls as humanly possible, as hard as possible.
find someone with a cricket brain at your club-speak to them about batting. if you cannot find someone with a brain, I know your frustration, speak to the most intelligent person you can find, even if they are not sportsmen and speak to them and how to improve what you are doing.
go down the pub Friday night, get smashed and go out Saturday still hung over-try to hit everything is sight.
or have a drink before the match, or possibly during.
whatever happens, don't give up.

I'm into bird watching while I play. At our ground we get pidgeons, buzzards, our opening batsman's 19 year old twin sisters and the odd Milf if there's any colts around!

As for streaking, I've also been known to do that on match day...

Always nice to open and hit the winning runs in a 10 wicket win.  Bowled the oppo out for 107, then ended up 108-0 off 14 overs, partner took the lions share with some big hitting to finish 73no, I was just happy for some time in the middle after a shocking run of form, to end up 31no, which I'll take after scores of 12, 1, 8 and 1.

Low point came with what we thought was the first wicket - blatant edge, which I heard at mid wicket, as well as pretty much everyone else.  Guy walks off looks back, sees the umpire hasn't given it, so walks back.  left a very poor taste, especially when he said "it hit my sleeve."  This on top of his accusing our skipper of racism earlier in the season and its fair to say he was getting some stick until he was finally out caught at mid off.  Off his sleeve, naturally...

Mid week side got promoted last night after a very feisty game against painswick! (Promotion spot at stake!) only disappointment was the older oppo pulling out the C U next tuesday for 2 of our younger players. Good to go up even though it was on net run rate...
