Oh right ok.

So their skipper was technically OK to call it a day then but morally suspect

Nope, not even technically OK, because we are allowed to play onto 95 overs regardless of time.  I didn't invent the rule, though I can see some sense in it.  Perhaps I should have given their skipper the benefit of the doubt and he just didn't understand the rule, though I'm sure he was being a cheating b******d.  We go back to playing 50 overs a side this week so all these complications go out of the window...

So actually the time is completely irrelevant then if you will only stop when you have played the overs. Right.. So they might as well do away with the time bit as it is pointless and confusing for no reason

Sadly this happened on Saturday.

Needing 31 off 10 overs with 6 wickets in hand when I got myself out I thought we would cruise to victory to give ourselves a nice bumper at the top of the table over 3rd place who we were playing...alas that wasnt the case :-(

3 run outs chasing 180? Don't suppose you're coached by one M. Hafeez Tom?  :D

Starting earlier than 12:00 isn't really required, we haven't had a game played in the dark in fact conditions have been fine all season. We even had a game finish at 3:00 even with a 15 minute delay to the start so we decided to buy a case beer and go and watch the games at our other home grounds as we finished so early

That's why 12:00 starts would be ideal, we normally play all 50 overs, finish all the jobs, all have a shower and then spend an hour or more drinking in the bar before 9:30 so 12:00 starts should be okay

If I've understood it right, you can race through your overs and bowl them all by 6.50pm, say, and then have an extra ten minutes bowling, too. So not irrelevant at all

Glad we aren't the only ones who have a weird time rule!

If we have a game where it is weather affected in the second innings only (we lose overs for rain after 30mins grace), we don't go to a revised target. We have to get all the runs in less overs to win, or be bowled all out to lose. If we end up short of the runs, but with wickets in the shed by the end of the innings, it's a draw. Bearing in mind we have paid umpires etc, it's slightly odd that we don't revise the target - basically makes a very boring game when you've got 3 wickets to get whilst they're 100 runs away with no chance of getting them!

Well my season took a turn for the weird this morning. We have so few ones players available this weekend that I am promoted from threes to ones. Hummm.... Got a feeling that we're going to struggle tomorrow....!

Captained my clubs t20 side last night, having picked a weak team as availability is all over the place ATM. When I turned up and saw they had 4 of there eapl boys playing my confidence was slightly low, I lost the toss but they made a grave error of choosing to bat first! We then kept them to 133 off there 20, our seamers bowling superb, me and the other spinner tying down the middle overs, and our keeper having a blinder!
We then chased it down in 16 overs, albeit we finished in the dark. I went out to bat and couldn't see the ball ha
