4 direct hits in fairness which at amateur standard is a rarity 🙈

Their coach must be "paying" off finally!

Saw this and couldn't quite believe it. I'm sure we will come up with something even more ridiculous tomorrow, although we did beat them at our place so you never know...

If you could do us a favour and roll them that would be great. We've ballsed up against the top 2 teams now by losing to them when if wed have won wed had secured promotion and prob the title too.

Ive no idea what we were doing as we should have strolled home at 3 an over with them all but beaten!

Another game tomorrow without 11 players again, think that makes it nearly 2/3s of games this season we've either played with less than 11 or had non cricketers make up the numbers. I also count 4 bowlers one being me whose bowling is average at best, usual keeper is away and a lack of batting. Added into that the 2 other bottom teams have beaten our oppo in the last 2 games makes tomorrow huge if we want to avoid relegation.

Just enjoy the game. Enjoyment isn't defined by winning or losing. Just enjoy the game, enjoy a bowl and a bat and whatever the result, who cares... It's not professional cricket after all

I know how that feels, it's incredibly deflating mate. On the bright side, this could be your week. Chin up pal

Due to an on field injury we lost a player during the game last week and then fielded with 9 as one guy had taken the lad to hospital (his parents are docs so pulled a few strings and he seen straight away etc). Did mean we lost the game as they got off to a flyer and only just chased our total down but hey ho..

As we see on here, a lot purely care about winning as it defines their day, but we felt OK. Everyone just assumed we'd lose due to missing 2 men (both front line bowlers) but we just didn't speak to the Oppos and took the mick out of ourselves.

We did the same on Sunday when we did only have 9 (two under 15's who've only started playing this year) and a team saw fit to smash them and us doe 359 off 40.. Meh, again we didn't care and it certainly didn't ruin the day overly. Sure they are people I'd not ever want to associate with but we are leaving the league at the end of the season so we won't have to see them again.

Just enjoy it. It's not professional sport regardless how many people take it seriously

Despite struggling this season it's been my most enjoyable for a number of years. The main frustrating thing is we have been close to winning games and (ifs and buts) had we had a full 11 we might have had a few more wins than the 2 we've had. It's also the wife's birthday so no matter what I'll be telling her we won and I scored runs! 😉

Excellent game this afternoon with our youngsters really doing the business.

We lost the toss and strangely the opposition wanted to bat first which suited us fine. First youngster (I think 12 years old) opened the bowling, only got 1 wicket but was an absolute handful during his 5 overs. Later on his older brother picked up 2 wickets but very importantly also took 3 catches. My figures were 3 wickets for 27 off 10 overs and the autistic lad I support also got a wicket in his 5 overs spell.

Anyhow chasing just 122, we sluimped to 2-2 but the next pair put on 117 with one of those being the 14 yr old brother of the opening bowler who played an incredibly mature innings. He had been promoted up the order after batting well last week and it was a real shame he didn't get his 50 but he took a risk to get his half-century and was out LBW. We won by 7 wickets and that's now 2 wins in the last 3 weeks but disappointingly next week we don't have a fixture.

20 point win today. Bowled oppp out for 103 - 15 year old taking 5-13, i got a couple of good grabs behind the sticks. Knocked them off for 1 which meant a few early pints in the glorious sunshine.

Last week we chased down 158 with 11 over left. I opened and got decent runs and felt really good.

This week same oppo.

Chasing 172 we ended up 135 all out with 15 overs still left. Shocking performance and I got a second ball duck.

Hate this game sometimes.

Technically got one up on another forumite
Our 1sts beat @Mpt7 's Wargrave whilst in my game the 4ths won by 8 wickets
Big 25 points as we are in a relegation battle
Turns out we have a big future player as last week we gave a12 yo his senior debut, during which he got 64*. This week he got 67*!

Another good week for me and the team.

We batted first and put on 212 for 8 in 43 overs, including a rapid fire 52 for me off 39 balls, my second 50 in 2 innings after my maiden (90 runs) 2wks ago.

They were all out for 88 in 26 overs but they did have a couple of juniors in their team. I only got to bowl 6 overs as the skipper wanted to share things around - we used 7 bowlers. I ended with figures of 1 wicket for 5 runs off 6.

I hate cricket

Bowled first and restricted the opposition to 219-9 off their 50.
I took 3-41 off my 10 and felt in good nick.

In response we were 67-0 off 17. We ended up 144 all out. I got to walk to the middle and watch the last wicket fall from the non strikers end  :(
