Decent game today really.

Bowled first through choice, had oppo 100-3 off 30 and then leaked 100 off the last 10 overs to finish 266-8. Good hitting by two of their lads and their overseas batted well. We dropped two chances and probably gave 20 runs away in the field.

In reply, we got to 250 ao so a reasonable game in the end.

Only sad parts is that we reported their skipper for abuse, sledging and intimidation and a couple of their lads for sledging. The umpires are putting in about over appealing too as they just appealed every time it hit the pads. Shame really as it did ruin what was a decent game . Couple of send offs for tail Enders too soured the game.

I did buy two of their bowlers a pint as they bowled well at me and their overseas for batting well.

We won today in the 99th(of 100) over of the game. Some odd umpiring on both sides but the bad evened out for both teams which mean both sides got shockers.
Personally back to form a bit with 39 after a few single figure scores.
Depending on other results we might be back at the top of the table come Monday and in a promotion position

You seem to report a lot of this every week @ProCricketer1982 , is overzealous sledging/downright abuse endemic in your league/division? Sounds like it might be down to the standard you play. It matters too much to some people that they are the best at what is at the end of the day (even at your high standard), amateur cricket.

Some of the lowest grade, park (village) cricketers are some of the most intense people I have ever played against.

Got a little bit outclassed.  Thought 185-4 was OK given the grassy track.  Reds got 28* and Chris 11.Oppo had a lad who opened in the prem at 16 (now much older)  and another who played for deaf England. Having got them 49-2 we got twatted all round Bretforton and lost with 8 overs to spare. To be fair the oppo got themselves demoted 4 divisions last year claiming they had lost there first team and clearly they hadn't. Not sure whether it was the leagues bright idea but teams are getting a good stuffing as they climb back up. Good thing is it highlights your weaknesses when you play much better oppo,  good reality check!

My team are trying to kill me

Whenever I am captain it's always a close game and yesterday was no different

We got 175-7 on an indifferent wicket then with 14 overs to go one of our fielders dislocated his finger in 2 places with oppo cruising

We pulled it back to where they were 8 down with 3 to win off last ball

Hit out to deep point crap throw in so they run 2 just and tied game 175 each

I'll take it with 10 men for a 3rd of the game and it was 1st vs 2nd (us top)

This is basically 3rd diction stuff. Tbh, only the very top league have any cause for taking it seriously as they pay most for their guys etc.

Yeah, this year especially this Divison has been really bad for teams sledging, send offs etc so now a few of the clubs are just not speaking to Oppos when fielding and then instantly reporting as soon as any sledging starts simply becUse there have been a few players quit a few clubs due to it. If you want to verbally abuse someone do it to someone who wants to verbally abuse you back.

Anyway, apart from that it was an enjoyable game this week tbf

Technically got one up on another forumite
Our 1sts beat @Mpt7 's Wargrave whilst in my game the 4ths won by 8 wickets
Big 25 points as we are in a relegation battle
Turns out we have a big future player as last week we gave a12 yo his senior debut, during which he got 64*. This week he got 67*!

I think you'll find it was 1-1. As our 2s beat your 3s at our place ;-)

Our game was a good one, your ones got ahead of the game early on and we couldn't chase a 252 total. Tough game between two competitive teams. Enjoyed it.

Personal highlight was my 2 6s hit with the H4L Hattori. Good lord those bats are pingy! Alas I needed to hit a few more to win the game....

Had my worst day as a cricketer, scored 1 and put down 4 chances off our spinner with the gloves. Glad to have a few weeks away now

Didn't play Saturday but did umpire for us, we set what I thought should be a competitive 185 with the wicket doing a bit however they chased it 2 down, would have been on but not being able to pitch in killed me especially watching the fielding display which was lazy, oh well, the ashorne promotion push kicks up a gear now and onto next week back at home!! Got to win our remaining 4 games to go up!!!

All I heard is that our Aussie hit 84 but you guys won by 8 wickets?

Another duck. Skied one up. Hate life.

Won the game though, bowlers got the oppo to 162 off their 40. Our #4 scored 110 and saw us through. Happy days.

Played twice this weekend. Yesterday for the twos where I batted at 11 and held up and end to use up overs as we managed a paltry 130 in 47 overs. The opposition set off at a tremendous rate against our opening bowlers, racking up 50 off the first 9 overs. I was brought in and then got rid of their numbers 2 & 3, conceding 13 runs in 6 overs. The skipper decided to rotate the bowling after this and we ended up with them getting to 131 in the 33rd over.

Today was a normal Sunday friendly. We scored 209 from our 40 overs. I faced three balls. One that hit my ankle right between the pad and the boot. Nice bit of swelling there. One wide and one evil ball that pitched about leg stump and hit my off stump. Evil. Our umpire (as we walked off) went on about how much it moved. That at least made the duck feel better. I opened the bowling and went for about 20 off eight with just the one wicket. Had two edges that should have been held. One flew through slips and the other was dropped at gully. Also one of the oddest fours. Bowled an inseamer that pitched outside off and jagged back back. The batsman had played to leave it and instead 9f the stumps it hit his bat. Slightly annoying!

Also played today
We fielded first and halfway through the innings was asked if I'd rather have a bat today
Said yes because I felt good yesterday until I got a good back I couldn't really do much to, so opened the batting with our first team opener
We put on 29 in 3 overs chasing 190 in 40 overs, but then he snicked off
Lost another partner shortly after, and then I did the unthinkable as a batsman
Having already gained 6 from the over I tried to smash the bowler (massive chucker) over cow, got bowled and left the number 4 who hadn't faced a ball at the other end
So 7 yesterday and 18 today
Annoyingly that's been about average for me this season
