Billy Root

Delighted for the lad after his first, first-class ton. Good bloke and a serious player in his own right, never mind who his brother is!  :D

Fantastic of him. I can genuinely see him and joe batting together for England... I wonder who'll go on to be the better cricketer.

Ian Bell's brother Keith was tipped to be better than Ian by some. He currently plays Birmingham League Premier division cricket and always scores a couple of tons a season.

There's a few brothers that were tipped to be better than the Former/Current England Players but didn't have the drive to go any further

Really Reds?  Ian Bell was earmarked for England from about 13.  Played all the way through school with Keith, quality bat and nice guy too, bit surprised to be honest that he didn't make it with Warwickshire.

Am I the only one that thinks billys results are over hyped because of Joe's status?

Super pleased for him, but for people saying he's tipped to be better than his brother need to remember that at the same age root snr was already playing for England?

The rumours I heard was that. Still both bloody good cricketers haha! A mate of mine plays in the same team as Keith and says he's a really nice guy

Maybe, but Joe didn't hit the century today so it's not all about him! :)

Loads of young players are 'rated' but so few actually amount to anything and even fewer are actually good. Let's see what he's done after 3-4 seasons

No I agree, and having spoken to Bil at Notts he's a great guy

However, on the back of one first class hundred there are multiple news articles about "sibling rivalry" soon to be in the England set up, and yet many other county players that got hundreds over the last 4 days that haven't got a single mention.

Denly was good but hasn't amounted to much.. Let's see what he's like after a few seasons before proclaiming him a wizard

He's got a contract at Notts.

He's got a contact at Notts.

Does he still?
I thought he was on a one summer deal last season. I don't know if he's renewed or not, so you may well be right.

He's got a contact at Notts.

Not disputing that he is talented, just musing on the sibling comparisons and england talk.
