I am in Lahore now and went to that CA Center and they r asking for Rs.38000 for 15000 players edition Wow that's £251 just wondering if it's even worth it now?

isn't that much cheaper than what you would get in the UK?

And you are prone to pay custom and import charges upon arrival in UK. OR even worse, they have the power to cut your bat right in the middle of the sweet spot with a saw to see if there are no drugs in it? :D

CA 15000 Players Edition cost 350+ pounds in UK, I'm talking about 2016 model which is soft pressed and had duckbill toe. All CA bats which I have seen this year have amazing ping and far better than their previous models in terms of pressing, performance and pickup. 38000 PKR is correct price and you will not get any cheaper than that.

Sorry forgot to mention, you don't pay any customs charges if you bring it yourself. I brought 2 bats from Pakistan in Feb and had no issues.

Second that.. 38000 PKR for players edition and 23000 for standard CA15000 is the pretty much the lowest price in Pakistan. As per a big CA retailer in Karachi, CA gives commission on number of bats sold by the retailer and there is no Whole sale price on these. I found the price to be similar at CA factory store in Sailkot and at a Authorized retailer in Karachi.

Not sure about UK but never paid any customs on bats here in US (brought 6 once).

Ask the CA guys what's the moisture content in their high-end bats and if they have any device to measure it in front of you?

Also, inquire about a warranty? If you are paying Rs 40K for a bat, it better be good enough to last for a year with normal play. See if they can provide one year warranty on breakage with normal use.

Willow Trees have not suddenly started to produce some extra special kind of timber.
I am sure it's the same willow quality that was marketed as CA 10K L.E a few years ago for a lot less. But now they have put some new stickers on it, dried the willow a bit more, and placed some incorrect weight labels to sell it for £350 under the 15000 players flag.

If you visit the factory they tend to give you 35-45% off on the MRP based on your bargaining skills.

Agreed with Sitonit. Those are same willows but so is the case with every manufacturer, they all put new stickers, grips etc every year and increase prices. The weight mentioned by CA is NAKED weight which does not include stickers, grip, toe guard etc. Also you are right their bats were used to be bit dry but believe me this year their bats are not dried at all and are not hard pressed at all at least the ones which are exported. My friend has a cricket shop in Morden, Surrey and I've seen at least 20 CA bats and they all are amazing and yes, they are all around 2.8-9 finished weight. Don't know how they get it so light may be because they are the biggest customers of JS wright and buys more willow than anyone else.

From the previous videos of Hammer cricket, one of the video mentions that CA actually reduces the size of the bat. Like for an adult bat, the size of the blade is actual harrow size to get the huge profile and weight in 2.8 to 2.9 range. again I haven't personally measured it myself, so couldn't confirm its true in all cases. Also, I did check of couple of SG bats this season here at the local retailer and saw that the width of the bat is few mm Smaller than other bats there. I guess they are doing it to get weight lighter and get the big edges and and full profile.

pretty sure some bat makers out there have a whole book of tricks to make bats look bigger for the weight, or lighter for the size.

CA bats have a 1cm shorter blade / 1cm longer handle (same overall length, and width as regular SH bats). This is why they generally pick up so well (along with the higher middle position). This configuration (1cm shorter blade, 1cm longer handle) seems to be quite the rage these days with other brands!

^^
That's a lie - at least in my test.
Even though I am not a great big fan of CA but truth must be told and lies should be exposed. I just got a CA 10000 L.E. SH measured with a GM DXM L.E. SH - and guess what? CA's blade is taller in than the GM.

CA's total length is 34 inches. That's about 23 inches blade and about 11 inches for the handle.

GM is 33.5 inches with 22.5 for the blade and 11 inches for the handle.

Both have the face width of 4.25 inches.

Edge size on CA is 40mm
Edge size on GM is 30 mm

CA Weighs 2.8
GM weighs 2.10

However, in my personal opinion, GM is light years ahead of CA in pickup, balance and performance.

I knock in dozens of CA's every year. I've never seen a full sized one in terms of overall size, most are a similar size to a Harrow and the majority of them are not 108mm wide in terms of blade width either

thebfully knocked in stickers they carry, as well as the weight stickers are comedy gold as well
