Yes its the impression i had recently from ijc which prompted a few people saying it wasn't worth getting a custom bat. I've only ever had bats bought off the shelf and had good and bad and it doesnt mean that just because its a custom it will instantly be good. But i enjoyed requesting what i wanted from my bat,and if i lived closer too kent i would of gone too see matt personally.
I am very happy with how it turned out and I'm very much looking forward to getting in the nets!

@lexx , this is a GORGEOUS bat!!! It has a full profile and the case/cover looks amazing! I see a hint of a bow too but can't say for certain.

I am practically left drooling at the pictures. H4L are making some great looking bats and I have them on my radar for a bat too (although I don't know what I want yet).

The shape is interesting; it reminds me of an Indian player's profile. Dhawan or Kohli maybe?

Keep us posted on how the bat performs. The way ball was bouncing off the face (in the video), you'll have a lot of fun in the middle.

Watched the video when @hanif had the bat in - agree with the Asian profile it also kind of resembles the BAS dolphin although perhaps not as extreme. @lexx where abouts are you based mate, close to Wakefield?

Lexxie-poos, that looks a nice stick. I had a 3 hour net yesterday with my new H4L and the ones that I hit were rebounding off the blade so well, it actually brings a smile to your face.

It's great that we have access and knowledge of batmakers like Matt, Red Ink, Ryan B3 etc on here.

Nothing gives confidence like a pinging stick!!!

Lad pulled his bat out do his bag and just had a handle in his hand. So went to his back up bat, 3rd ball drive and that was 5 pieces.


I took him down my g2 NV.......... I've since recieved 8 text messages off him trying to buy it and a promise he's "only ever using h4l from now on"

Must say @FattusCattus your new stick really did suit you played some lovely shots with it especially over the top their something special about the way Matt presses his bats as it doesn't matter if it's a grade two or a pro all seem to be extremely responsive

Thanks lads! I'm going to take it to nets today so will report back on how well it plays. I've heard nothing but praise for matt's skills as a bat maker, we are very lucky to have such skilled guys about. Making lovely bats for us all!

I had a picture in my head of what I wanted but this passed that by miles! I think this shape is my utter favourite and if it plays as good as it looks I'm in for a real treat!!!

Used the bat tonight for the first time and wow! This bat eats cricket balls! First shot I played was a back foot punch and it pinged off like a rocket! The pick up and balance in the hands it felt more like 2'10 than 2'13,those counter balance handle has really impressed me. I enjoyed every ball I faced tonight, it was a real pleasure to use.
