Contact Laver if you're unhappy - they're usually very good.

Size is down to density and I guess butterfly wood is heavy.

Having said that, if you've paid that much and you're not happy, the first place you should complain is to the manufacturer directly and not on a cricket bat forum.

since I just received it yesterday, I am still thinking whether to keep it or talk back to Laver as I Like the way bat is tapping up also feels like it has lot of wood.

first off, I never said I paid 350 pounds for a butterfly, always said that it was 300 USD that's about 190 to 200 GBP. Secondly, all I said is how the manufacturer missed the mark in couple of aspects. If I am unhappy about the bat, manufacturer would have been the first person who would get my call even before the pics goes up. Nextly, I have decided to keep the bat as its tapping up beautifully and its the best butterfly I have seen . Sorry that many guys have taken the review as complaint as I was just stating couple issues with Laver's as there are too many complaints coming off about them these days.

@Shortpitch ,with 2 additional grips it will be atleast 2 Oz above u r specs! are you still keeping it?
I can understand if some like OLS did this but, for LW...its a !!!!job. I wonder who will foot the return shipping bill if you decide to send it back.

@kaartman I did put 3 grips yesterday and it feels a lot better. I decided to keep it as bat is responding amazingly. I did talk to James and he offered to exchange with shipping costs on me. But I decided to keep it as its one of the best responding bats i had my hands on. Will take it to practice tomorrow and will update how it does. Also true that standards from laver are not as they used to be.

So they make a mistake, and get the specs wrong...but the customer has to pay the price? That is not good.

Yeah, I noticed it as soon as I received it, but Its a non issue for me as I also checked my reserve(After a forum member mentioned here recently) which is 4 year old and have the same wonky toe and goes like a gun. For 2.12, In actual I feel like it has lot of willow. will update edge and spine size shortly.

well overall if your happy then thats the main thing thats counts. i can see the attraction of why you want one of these and even with all the little things.. it kind of makes the experience more organic.

@Boondougal, Precisely. Even with all these minor discrepancies, In my cases, Laver is the best bat manufacturer to deal with. Especially, when you compare to dealing with cricket retailers here in USA. So, I might be little partial towards them, but that's purely my case. I could be completely wrong with other forum members deals with Laver.

To be honest I couldn't care less if the toe isn't even, if it doesn't affect performance (very unlikely) or balance (Lavers are usually incredibly balance) what does it matter.

It's fairly typical on most hand made bats, with varying margins for error. It typically depends on the handedness of the batmaker.
