Raw cricket
« on: April 20, 2016, 08:01:11 PM »

Have seen these advertising on Facebook for a while and tonight I got to see one of these first hand.

Now, I will disappoint a lot as I don't have pictures yet.

G1+ grade willow, 2:9 allegedly.

Thoughts were there wasn't anything new or different than any other company offering.  Finish was good but the stickers didn't quite stick down in a couple of places.

Branding was clear and vibrant, nothing to elaborate.

Picked up well, I'd have put it round the 2:9-2:10 mark.

Slightly bottom heavy with a lot of wood in the hitting area.  Concaved a bit but not massively. Very thin handle and shoulders giving the chance for more wood lower down.  I'm sceptical whether it'll last at the top end.

Grading was a bit poor, 7 grains, heartwood and a number of small blemishes throughout the face.

Performance was very good, nice middle and went when you hit it there.

Overall, impressed but for £230 nothing to write home about.

That's weird because I've just seen an ad on Facebook for Raw cricket.

Are you mates with Simon (Slabs) @joeljonno? I know him from Uni, muppet bought one before mentioning it to me (Vitas can get one of these for substantially less money blank ;) )

They look stunning; shame you didn't know about the VITAS service beforehand (which I'll vouch for as being spot on); RAW even sell the stickers :D

Looks like a beautiful stick though mate - I'm rather partial to their range! Trying to get them to send me some stickers and give me a discount on softs but not heard back yet..! Would be restickering a couple of beautiful blades!

One of the lads at my club had one that he got last season at nets tonight. It was a really strange half butterfly, in Aldred fashion would probably call it a grade 1 Butterfly but he forked out 230 notes for it. Looks pretty ordinary to me. Seem to ping off the middle alrite but would expect a decent look for that dollar.

No, I don't think so.  The lad who had this is called Chris.

Must be different bats, but they look very similar
