Cheap/Net Bats
« on: April 26, 2016, 03:21:10 PM »

Hi All,

Just wanted recommendations on where to get a cheap/cheapish bat or net bat from.
I'm a bowler, and have not had to bat too often, but my own bat broke last season and now need a new one without being too out of pocket.
Has anyone bought a cheap bat recently that they would recommend?

Any input would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum,  it might help if you define what your idea of cheap is? (Sub £100 etc)

Im sure with the knowledge base on the forum and amount of kit looking for a new home the members might point you in the right direction.

As you can't see the sale section on here yet, my eBay account sounds ideal for you

@Blank Bats
Thought they'd bumped the price up to 120?

Non idea, mine was 75. But it's that good I'd have probably paid 120 for it.

People charging that plus more for butterflies. Not this there's anything wrong with butterflies, just my bb is probably grade 2 and a very full bat. .

@sHoweller

Saw a video couple of weeks back from Paul Aldred, storm damaged with no visible damage great looking bats for nets for 75 quid. No guarantee offered on the bat, but for nets, brand new, custom made not a bad option.

Don't think I'd ever knowingly buy a storm damaged bat! One of my clubmates bought one of those recently as a copy of his Aldred match bat... the storm damaged one snapped in its' first net. Paul did refund him in fairness, as it went straight away, but what a waste of time.

I got a Mongoose Rebel series for £64 including delivery by contacting Tom on here. Haven't used the bat yet but it knocks up nicely, can't really go wrong at that price.

Forgot to add that the Mongoose is supposedly a grade 3, but it looks much better than that to me.

Was it mongoose who made those T20 long handled short blade bats?
