It's gonna end up a marginal and elitist game if left to these idiots
Club cricket will end up being travelling friendly teams
County cricket will be made up of rich kids willing to pay their own way
And god knows what the national teams gonna be like

It's already a marginal elitist game

Club cricket will only be leagues, there will be no friendly stuff.
County cricket will reduce and reduce
National teams.. Will survive no doubt but no idea what the standard will be like.

Again, it's obvious to see unless you're biased to ECB propaganda talking about how th game has grown. It hasn't,  and jnr stuff is purely a cash cow so has no relevance to the health of the game. We all know in general that the amount of u18's who stay in he game is tiny (sure, some clubs will do better than others but if people stopped only caring about their patch they'd take a wider view)..

Meh, screw it. Nothing we can do about it. Working your backside off is just helping them achieve their goals not save the game. Not sure it is savable now given all people want is increasing profits

Inclined to agree. Outside private schools cricket is effectively dead already. Chance to Shine teaches kids that there is a game called cricket but that's it. It's clubs that are keeping the game alive and it's people like Charlotte Edwards who act as the inspiration for tomorrow's players.

She can only be an inspiration if people know who she is. Pick any teenage girl and I'd be incredibly surprised if any of them can name a female cricketer at all. Hell, id be surprised if any men playing village cricket could name one.
