It is better to lose the clefts than risk your reputation  for little gain. I would rather sell the clefts to hobby bat makers to practice  their skills on or donate to a school club than sell.

That said if you have historical  stats like you sold 100 damaged bats and only 3 broke, it may make me think  again.

You should give some warranty, even if it is a reduced  2 week warranty, buy as seen is better suited  to dodgy bay and scamtree.

I think B & S should get a bit of a pat on the back here, everything is upfront and I'm sure will be explained on purchase. There's others that sell storm damaged bats at double or triple the intial prices mentioned on here.

Yes it's a lottery whether the bat will last but I like the upfront method and a price of a tank of petrol you may get one that last a season.

If you're willing to take a gamble these could be good buys. I've had three storm damaged bats myself, one was still going after 2 seasons, two broke during the season.

I don't have my name down for one but personal ally I think it's worth a chance

I think this is probably a difficult one Garry, I see there points about reputation etc,  but you are being very upfront about it all, my thoughts are are, if you sell them all within this forum, then everyone has an idea of what the pit falls are of buying this type of willow and there will be no come back or loss of rep at all.

Oh and I would buy a couple of those cleats handled and pressed to practice making a bat?

On a side note do you do any grade 3/4 bats?

Mel.

If all 80 sell on here it will be a very good for feedback, you cannot get a better focus group.

Personally I will never buy one knowingly.

OLS vs Forum Storm Damage offering  could be a good idea for a Poll, perhaps  in a separate  thread.

I'd be happy to take a couple of handed and pressed clefts if that became an option.

I think though the labeling has to be indicating that it is what it is.

H4L have their Devil range so you know you're getting something for whatever reason doesn't qualify as a normal grade. Mine was a Butterfly Devil. So nothing to do with performance. Think a few have also had pressing cracks. While with M&H (as far as I'm aware) you couldn't see that it was storm damaged. If if gets sold on as a normal bat the only guy who's gaining is the reseller making a quick buck.

It is a minefield.
