Storm Damaged Clefts
« on: May 13, 2016, 07:15:07 PM »

Question 1) B&S South Africa have advised that they have 25 Grade 1 Clefts which in there opion are Storm Damaged . If I was to get them made into bats and sent over would there be any interest at £80.00 these would be Blank with fitted Scuuf Sheet and obviously no WARRANTY will apply they could see the season out and longer or they could snap on your first hit .

Question 2) By offering this do you the End User feel it's a cheek to offer a Product we feel could be inferior to our Normal Product even though you have been fore warned and in your opion will it make you think twice about  buying future B&S Kit

I think there will be a demand off this, but I would encourage you to ask for written confirmation that the buyer understands there is not warranty and the bat may break with its first hit, with no recourse for a refund.

It is a fair offer IMO. Paul Aldred is doing something similar too for 75 GBP. I am interested to get one in Scorch profile :-)

Anyone with common sense and morals would buy and then take it on the chin if/when it breaks.

Idiots, and chancers wanting to get something for free(while probably killing someone's rep) will moan and slag you off on all social media formats until something is done to quiet them.

id say choose who you sell to wisely.

Me I buy for stickers, so the fact there blank means I won't buy.

Will it affect performance in any way? If not you can count me in.

I reckon I'd take a couple, just to try different shapes.

Teammate of mine bought one recently, snapped in half in its' first net... Not worth it for me, as a seller I'd definitely be making sure they understood the breakage risk.

I would almost say you could sell all of them on here.

I've had one sent over and took it too vitas Today Robin ,myself and Uli hit about 50 balls each we all agreed it felt good and showed no sign of damage or cracking . Buzz the terms and conditions will be made very clear to any perspective buyer . Two shapes will be available Scorch and Tendulkar any takers send me a message and I will follow it up from there

Seems more than reasonable to me, but having seen some customer reactions on the forum, might be wise to have the customer sign an agreement outlining acceptance of risk. But I would certainly be interested.

I don't think a signature is needed, just an acknowledgement email or PM would be enough, just something that confirms they know.

£80 is a lot of money on a gamble, but I'd pay that for a 2nd hand bat on eBay so would be willing to potentially have one as a spare/wet weather bat.  Gives me the opportunity to try out a B&S without throwing too much money at it until I'm sure I like it.  Then could get one made/bought to a similar spec.
