« on: May 14, 2016, 08:06:03 PM »

Does anyone know if Paul Nixon is still making bats? Lad at my club has a couple and been very impressed with them and may try them out one day but can't find much online, no website and nothing recent on Facebook

Paul Nixon?

Nixon cricket, by Nick Nixon, based in Malton are still going. He's going strong and just got some nice new bats made for this season with a new shape for one of them.

I've had/got a few Nixon bats and to be fair they've always performed really well.  Also been through to the workshop a few times as it's only about 40 minutes from me.  Definitely best to phone!  No website, email, social media etc.  Nick seems pretty old fashioned and possibly slightly set in his ways!  Makes a great bat though. :)

There was a website but hasn't been in use for some time now and no longer works.

I like the story of a 60 year-old Collis King using a 4lb Nixon that had lasted him ten years.

Yes, quite amazing that Collis King is still the Pro at Dunnington at the age of 64!
