He's picked up 2 wickets in 10 overs, not exactly picking them up for fun is he?

I was going to say last time I looked he had 2 wickets   :)

the problem is if Stokes is not playing, and sounds like he could be out 6 weeks, is we are not exactly flush with allrounders as a like for like....

i'm stuggling to think of more than 2 or 3 who might be good enough.. Woakes.....Chris Jordan(!) uummm..like I said struggling for decent seamers who are proper batsmen.

I would throw in Ansari of Surrey if he is fit. What have we got to lose in this series? we are one up and the Lankans cannot play the seaming and swinging ball

If we thro in Ansari now......we might just find the left arm spinner we are looking for- for the bangla and india tours later this year...

just a thought  :)

Does Chris Jordan deserve another chance? Or is he just a one-day player now

If they bring Jordan in to replace Stokes, they might as well replace Anderson/Broad with Dernbach!

Don't really see what Chris Jordan brings to the England test squad apart from his fielding.

Up and down bowler who try's to hit the deck hard at mid 80's and is never really going to score you any hard fought runs, might just bash a few down the order when we already have a decent score.

Leave him as a one day player for me, surprised a lot of people with his performances in the T20 world cup and his batting at the end can be more valuable there.

Now CJ is in the IPL like Jos it would need something spectacular for him to be in the England whites this series. If he was within the next 2/3 bowlers in reserve they wouldn't have allowed him to go over there.

Also stokes needs a knee op. That's not gonna be a quick turn around!

Depends what he's done, meniscus is literally a few weeks.. Cartlidge (most people confuse meniscus as cartlidge) is six months or more..

ACL/MCL etc is big too

Woakes is a far, far better player than the internet gives him credit for. 9-for today is a good effort! Wonder if he'll bat at 6 like he did on debut or at 7/8 with others moving up.

Hello mate.

Good on him but makes no difference at the point you posted it he had still only picked up 2 wickets in 10 overs...
