Cracking test series !!

Not.

Utterly pointless and anyone sensible simply can't read anything into it. SL can't bat and can't bowl

Probably brought on by the fact that the bowling standard was closer to County standard than it was to International standard!
I can't imagine Ali would be hitting many tons against the Saffa or Aussie bowlers!

BUT you can only play what is put in front of you....so credit to the great bearded one!  :)

Certainly sub standard bowling by Sri Lanka. The new SL line up is an utter disaster !! They are showing no reserve to even put up a fight ...

Not many 8s make Test hundreds. The inability to grasp context is remarkable.

Well played Kaushal Silva! He put up good resistance when wickets fell all around him.

Or mAybe the point you're missing is that at #8 it's normally bowlers whom bat there. The likes of Johnson, Broad and Ashwin have 100s at #8.

Moeen Ali is a top order batsman batting at #8 because he's not good enough up bat in the top six.

That's the difference

I always thought he was a frontline spinner who batted (See Ashwin) Fair enough, he isn't as good a spinner as Ashwin, but he certainly bats better than he does... Or atleast he does a better job in scoring runs quickly. He's an opener in CC because he's one of the better batsman at Worcester. Saj Mahmood was a very average batsman for England, but nowadays opens up for Rotherham Town because he's the best batsman they have!

Was wondering what happened to Saj Mahmood after Essex released him so thanks  :)

Sri Lanka have played better in better batting conditions, our(England's) problem has always been what happens when the wickets go flat and the ball goes soft.
This series is a bit boring...if it's an average English summer weather wise it could be a battle of the bowlers against Pakistan.

I could be in a minority but looks to me a close series on paper.

Isn't he in one of the adverts for a bookmaker (possible Bet365) at the moment?

You know the England match is boring when you're sat at home wondering "I wonder what Saj is up to..."  :D

But yes, sounds like he's commuting over from Bolton each weekend, bit of a trek, but I guess it pays his beer money. From what I hear he's a great bloke to have around the team, a good laugh.

Magnificent century by Dinesh Chandimal. Sri Lankan's next generation will rely heavily on this fella.

Moeen Ali 1/136 off 28 overs. Truly shocking bowler.

His 19 wickets against India was a total fluke.

The umpires have both been excellent, has there been a successful review yet this test?
