10000 runs for Cook. He should give up the captaincy racket and focus on breaking batting records. Captaincy is a thankless job.

Moeen Ali 1/136 off 28 overs. Truly shocking bowler.

His 19 wickets against India was a total fluke.
Realise your most likely trolling but is Herath 1/116 from 29 overs also a truly shocking bowler?

Every time Compton defends  Herath's delivery,  that M&H livery is prominently displayed. So nice to see that.  :D

Moeen Ali is a top order batsman batting at #8 because he's not good enough up bat in the top six.

He was batting at 7.

Who cares, the letters were M&H and match winning two boundaries as well.  :D

Hardly...

Rangana Herath was bowling on day 1/2 when it was favourable for seam bowling, there wasn't any turn in the pitch at that stage.

Moeen Ali was bowling on day 3/4 when there was big turn on offer, against a pretty downbeat Lankan side, yet because Ali is so hopeless he still couldn't create any pressure at all.

And Ali was the one bowling chest high full tosses that Compton was lucky didn't result in a broken ankle...

I would nt say Broad has limitations he bowled   a wonderful slower ball to help wrap up the SL innings to move to 343 test wickets.
As for Finn he's lost his rhythm he's a bang it in bowler at his best when bowling as fast as he can getting bounce

When Cook reached 10,000 runs whats the obsession with him being 'the youngest to 10,000'?

Cook has played 30 odd extra innings than the previous record holder, vis a via had he played the extra 30 innings he would've had another 1500+ runs...

This is no trolling going on here, just a different opinion, and please....let's not compare any stats from Ali with Herath. The Sri Lankan has 300 test wickets you don't get those down at Poundland.

I like Ali as a cricketer, but he bowled a load of rubbish in this match, turn/no turn/good wicket/whatever it doesn't matter.

We...us England fans can be very one eyed sometimes. if Ali is the off spinner first he is not good enough by a long way. If he is a part time bowler all is fine in the world. the two are very different.

Ali's batting was thrilling, where he fits in a strong England side I'm not sure.

If you bat 8 really your primary slot should be as a wicket taker

 :)

Yawn. What a surprise to see you pop up with a dig at an English player. Never saw that coming...

Great to see Jimmy bowling so well, seems to have the ball on a string sometimes.

Nice to see Chandimal's ton too, totally deserved  - some of his driving through the covers was beautiful.
