Sri-Lanka 16/1 to take this 3rd test. We all know how England can have the odd collapse, might be worth £10!

Nick Compton's test career RIP. We can blame the selectors for this one yeah?

so who to bat at 3 vs pakistan? im thinking possibly someone from essex stepping up and a shuffle in the batting order, has vince shown enough for a shot at 3?

Vince to be left at 5 - not shown enough yet. Stuff Borthwick in, scoring loadsaruns and 6th bowler.

Root. He's pretty much batted there anyway.

Depending how Vince does, he could move up to 4 with someone new coming in at 5. I was hoping it'd be Ballance but after his lack of CC runs, I doubt that.

I guess a lot depends on Stokes being fit. I'd still say Ali or even Vince, but there's plenty to choose from the Championship circuit.

Agree with @FattusCattus think they'll bring in Borthwick. Westley must be knocking on the door though.

I think Borthwick deserves a chance. Scored lots of runs for Durham and also gives another spin bowling option if needed.

The fact that Compton has been on dire form this season, why would you consider picking him?
If he was on good form then he would be ok against SL, but he wasn't!

Then you look at in-form County players and there are a few hitting centuries! I would leave Vince at 5 and possibly give Robson a go at 3?
But wouldn't be too disappointed if Borthwick was given a go!
