Err where?

Woakes is currently in the test team and opens for his county. Plunkett has been in the test team and is a regular in the touring party. Rashid played in the UAE in tests. Willey opens the bowling for Yorkshire. Ali is in the test team.

I don't like defending him but

Ali is bits and pieces
Willey is medium plod bits and pieces
Roy is a miss or hit batter

The fact someone plays test cricket now doesn't make them good.. Standards are low in test cricket sadly.

I'll give you Ali, but Willey is a bit harsh and the others you have declined to mention, which indicates they are indeed specialist bowlers. Let's put it this way, England may have 1 bits and pieces player and 4 specialist bowlers who are decent batsman.

The Woakes moaning posts are dropping by the day! ;)

Aren't ODIs the home of bits and pieces players anyway? Every team in the world has at least a couple - Jadeja/Pandya, Maxwell/Faulkner, Morris/Wiese/Duminy/Behardien/Phangiso, usually 4 or 5 of any NZ XI, etc etc. The domestic MVP last year in the south group one day comp was Benny Howell, who is the definition of bits and pieces. You need all-rounders and genuine ones don't exactly grow on trees.

The guy who's batting average is better than everyone bar Root's in the England team...yeah pretty decent for bits and pieces

You are forever knocking anything English - so why are you still in London? Why don't you go somewhere you'll be liked?

Actually I may start a rugby topic about the latest games!  ;)

Did you not hear, Pete? Much like the England Cricket Team, the England Rugby team are only winning at the moment because they are playing poor opposition... Put them up against a decent team and they'd get shown up  ;)

Good point! Aren't England only playing the current 4th best rugby team in the world! Whereas England are the 2nd best I believe!  ;)

I've seen this wirh so many others. I think too many on here apply a club cricketer's 'snap judgement' mindset.

Bet you've watched all the England games you sneaky dog. See you at Edgbaston tomorrow then? We all know you'll be glued to the England game. Definitely a closet England supporter. Can't wait for your posts tomorrow - "oh I wasn't really watching it / I glanced at the highlights". Admit it you love England, why else would you be here  ;)

i'm holding out the hand of friendship to you Aussie, and it's genuine, to be an adopted England fan. We can sing Jerusalem together with a can of xxxx to share.

You gave us Kylie and her bottom, and us Brits will be forever grateful, you also gave Rolf Harris let's gloss over that.

Our Countries have so much in common, I've been to Australia and was made more than welcome watching the Ashes over there. Never have I been made more welcome anywhere in the world.

Come on....come on in with us England, we can even talk about the 90's when we got bushed every Ashes, Taylor and Marsh putting on 300 in a day remember that in 1989?-we didn't look like getting a wicket all month and then Steve Waugh came in and had a laugh-we couldn't get him out either....

come on in son the water is warm, get the St George flag out and breathe in.... :o

SL win toss and bat. England unchanged. Mathews can't bowl.

Hehehehehehe ....watching 2nd o.d.i and just saw the umpires arm guard- face protector - perspex ping pong bat thingy ! Wow ! Why not an aero face guard , helmet etc ? I suppose good luck to him but I wouldnt use it for quids . At least it's multi purpose - it holds note pads , pens and who knows what else .....'swiss army umpire gadget' !
