Why are CA bats over dried? is it because of the hot weather in Pakistan? if thats the case then all big brands must be making over dried bats? GN, Kooka, Spartan and others? Both India and Pakistan have same weather overall.

Dry them out more in order to make them bigger.

i reckon it's more to do with the makers wanting to create larger volume bats, in terms of edge size and spine height, and one of the easiest ways to do this other than concaving is to dry the bat out. A good example of this would be some of the Warner profile bats.

yes but if the weather is like super hot in India then the willow would obviously be very dry when they make the bats that means GN, Spartan, Kook bats are over dried too?

All bats is a big statement! There are quite a few that may be though  I am slightly biased in my views.

I have used a few CA bats over the years and have NOT found them to be "overdry". Maybe this is because I like picking them out myself and/or rely on a retailer I trust if I can't be there in person.

Hot and humid is different to hot and dry though, if it's humid that's not likely to dry the bat out surely

IMO, all mid - lower end models from SS are over dried these days. Average club cricketer doesn't know anything about moisture content. All he wants is a cheaper - bigger bat

I suppose you could add narrower blade width and shorter handles, blade length etc to exaggerate the edges/spine

There is something wrong in asian countries regarding over drying process, they break often.

I have seen no correlation between continent of manufacturer and durability.

That said, Asian bats (and yes this includes GN, kook, Spartan ) will be drier, but this is totally natural. Look at them wearing jumpers in the Eng-sl test, and then compare that to THIS: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-36339523

Not sure how may Indian branded you have used. But, 3 of my bats ( 1- SF, 2- SS bats ) lasted just 1 season each.
I personally experienced quality issues with SS...on the other hand my GM 808 is head and shoulders above SS in terms of quality and finish.
May be KOOK and GN has relatively better quality control.

I went to Pakistan earlier this month and while I was there I had to drink 20+ glasses of water every day...my contact lenses solution in the case dried every night...there is no way the bats in factories are not dried.
