Young Guns XI
« on: January 07, 2010, 05:29:01 AM »

Who would be your ideal eleven from players that have emerged in the past couple of years or players under 25?

I'm a bit stuck maybe others can think of a awesome young all stars squad.

I can think of 6 definites but not sure of the rest.

The anticipation of him emerging from the pavilion, and his walk from the boundary to the centre, is almost surreal. The sound of a passionate Indian crowd all chanting "Sachin, Sachin" as they wait in anticipation, followed by the enormous roar when he emerges onto the field, is electrifying.

Michael Clarke's been playing Test cricket since 2005. He hasn't emerged in the past couple of years.

Probably because most of us don't follow Bangladeshi cricket as closely as we do other nations. If this topic were to be created after the upcoming series in Bangladesh things might be very different.

Shakib Al Hasan was the Wisden Cricketers Player of the Year 2009! Most of the bangladeshi team is young and talented and in a couple of years they will be very good.

My Team:

Phil Hughes (before he got found out)
Sam Northeast
Ross Taylor
Umar Akmal (best young batsman on the scene?)
Rory Hamilton Brown
Shakib Al Hasan *C*
Dinesh Ramdin *W* (best/only young WK on the scene)
Stuart Broad (really come of age this year)
Ajantha Mendis
Muhammad Aamir (best young bowler for sure)
Wayne Parnell
