My Laver Reserve
« on: May 28, 2016, 10:18:44 PM »

Hello Everyone,

First off, thanks to the CBUK forum and its passionate members for such an informative site. I would never have thought of purchasing a bat from Laver & Wood if it weren't for the positive experiences shared here.

I took the plunge when L&W came up with a Private Bin sale in Apr '16 and after some back and forth with James over e-mail, I decided to go with the Reserve. The entire process was seamless and super efficient. Here's the result :

 Grade: Reserve
 Weight: 2.14
 Pickup: 2.11 (sometimes feels like a 2.10)
 Grips: 1
Handle: Heavy handle to help pickup

Its a slight modification on their special profile. I'm calling it the glutton :)

to get a second opinion, I asked my friend who plays with heavy bats to do a pickup check and he too put it around 2-10/11. It's pure magic and James is a wizard!  :o

@Shortpitch : awesome! do you have pictures? please post the link.

It's a semi-oval handle. this is my first laver, so i dont have a reference to other grades, but i guess this is their standard handle for the reserve. Let me post some measurements later.

Here are pics of my Butterfly.

Only difference between the profiles I can spot is that, reserve has a bit of concaving to get the high spine where as the butterfly doesn't have any concaving and spine is normal.
