Net Care
« on: June 02, 2016, 07:15:28 AM »

So our club invested a small fortune in getting a triple lane net installed around 2years ago. When it was installed we were given little/no care instructions relating to them at all. Already a there are a number of weeds growing up through the matting but perhaps more worrying is that the nets are a death trap. We have some balls popping off a full length hitting people in the chest and other that just scoot through really low. The fabric in the lanes has also worked loose.

We were told to try running a hand roller over them but this just seems to pull the fabric a little looser. I imagine that a roll is what is needed to flatten them out but how do you do this without effecting the matting and what type of roller and in what weather (after rain/ when bone dry) should this be done? Any other tips for killing the weeks without damaging the matting?

We've just had a two lane net done.

We was told(weather true or not) a service will be needed once every two years. Which is to take the Mat up, maitainence and repair of under neath and relay mat.
His is along as mat is worksable

If damaged or worn Matt replacement to. .

When rolling ours we normally give it a good soaking before hand and give it a good brush to get any crap off it to stop it being rolled into the surface.

We just normally soak the nets, and give them a good roll with the heavy roller and ours play fine the odd one comes through the top but mainly the bounce is consistent
