Diy repair help

My brother gave me his old bat and it was looking quite knackered so i decided to clean it up so i removed the scruff sheet and sanded down the face and at certain angles it looks fine but at other angles it has stratches anyone know how to fix it

try getting a few finer grit sand papers, even a sheet of very fine wet/dry, and just progress through the grits. for the best finish, pick up (or make) some bat wax and apply that, leave for an hour and then polish with a clean cloth.

Yes as each finer grit will remove the marks left by the previous one.
