Is it worth it, what's your opinion?
« on: June 16, 2016, 11:16:26 AM »

Hey guys. Just after an opinion. One of my mates has a Reebok from India (Believe it was bought for him over there and brought back as a gift a few years back), and am wondering what you guys think of it? Believe the weights around 2lb 9oz. Only going off what he's told me mind, but am tempted to buy it off him - not sure what it'd be worth though?

By looks alone, and your opinion - is it worth buying?

Well that's a raggedy old munter! If he wants £25 for it, fair enough - don't think I'd part with much more for it.

You can see from the cracks it's well used personally would need to ping a few balls off it beforing deciding on what to pay but certainly no more than what Fattus as suggested.

£20 and a pint

Off topic, but is there such a thing as a genuine Reebok bat?

Yes, I have a couple of limited edition ones and they ping like anything. Its similar to having Adidas cricket bats. We know Adidas doesn't make their own bats and is outsourced.. Reebok bats were very popular till 2012 but i think they stopped making them (or stopped outsourcing) after that.

How is the ping of the bat?

I like the face and the horizontal cracks. The bat is either: a.) nearly cooked, or b.) already cooked and pinging well.

I'd settle for something between 40-50 USD.

30-40 USD is the max i would go for. The bat has been used quite well and seems like the time is up for this one ...

One quick question here mate.....
Are you buying it because its a good bat, or are you buying it because of the stickers it has on?

If you have tapped a ball up on it, used it in the nets, like the pick up and genuinely see yourself using the bat, then for a decent price its worth it.
On looks, it looks past its prime so the price should be well past its prime too.

It's certainly not for the stickers, haha! I used the bat a few years ago a couple of times in the nets and remember the ping of it. It's also quite a nostalgic thought to buy it as well because of it and time around I had used it. Obviously though it's been a fair amount of time since I last even picked it up, and I am not all too sure how much use it has had since and what the thing was even worth haha, hence why I popped up a few photos in the thread.

Certainly very different to what I'm used to thinking of buying! Well he originally said £50, but put me off a little and why i've asked for the wise opinions of CBF.  :D

£50 for a bat in that condition? He's taking the piss, I'd tell him he can keep it if that's what he wants for it ;)
