Hampshire league club
« on: June 22, 2016, 06:46:21 PM »

Hi guys

As my search for a friendly side failed miserably, I'm after a new club!

I'm a front line off spinner (with a somewhat Paul Adams action) who owns plenty of bats. Happy to bat anywhere from 1 to 11 as long as I get a decent bowl ;)

Available Saturdays, Sundays and midweek. If we can sort transfer papers etc I'm available ASAP

P.S I have my own transport and am fully house trained.

You're leaving your club because they don't have a friendly side Cam?

Don't suppose you fancy a jaunt up to Watford every weekend?

No mate, far from it (and I'm down to play a friendly for mycurrent club this Sunday).

I'm planning to leave my current club for a range or reasons (which I will not disclose here out of respect for what they have done for me over the years). All I will say is that it isn't the same club it once was, and change is not always a positive thing.

I had planned on playing friendly cricket for someone else this season to get to know people, with the intention of joining as a full member next season. Broken thumbs and illness meant I wasn't able to do this as planned.

this aint helping but when I was about 15 we used to tour Hampshire over 2 days and played at East Woodhay CC, there was a little pub we went to out in the sticks that stayed open until we all left and it's the first time I got to play the 'bottle game'

great memories.

Have you tried Hambledon Cam? I still know a couple of guys there and after a couple of years turbulence they are rebuilding the club and it seems like there is a great atmosphere at the minute. Plus you get the benefit of playing for the club where it all began.

you also have the benefit of drinking at the Bat & Ball pub after the game. Played many games there growing up and playing in Portsmouth

Thanks for the suggestions guys

Portsmouth - There's a few (all of which are terrible for parking) - will consider
Porchester - work with one of their players, will ask him for more details next week.
Waterlooville - A former teammate recently made the move. Possibility
Havant - Not the easiest ground for me to get to every week (I made my 1st XI debut at Havant Park so have fond memories)
Hambledon - Not too far from me, another club I will definitely have a look at
