TCB Limited Edition Softs
« on: July 11, 2016, 03:23:42 PM »

Hi All.

I am looking at creating some LE softs to be released ready for next season and was looking for some feedback.

1) What would be your preferred colour combination or mostly white?
2) What style of glove/pads?
3) Any name suggestions?

Im a big fan of a classic looking glove with lots of white (split finger, not sausage finger) such as GN Legend or a Salix Players but wanted to know your thoughts.

Any feedback would be great!

Cheers

GN legends are the dogs nads pads if you ask me, main thing that sets them apart if you ask me is the fabric used, alot of pads use mesh on the shin bolster which i find gets quite coarse once a bit of sweat gets into it and so i find them pretty uncomfortable, the legends use a silky fabric type thing which is incredibly comfortable also like the leather used everywhere and the build quality. Gloves wise again dont think you can really beat the legends or a pair of split finger gloves from salix.

If you have the ability to get completely new designs done, something using modern materials aimed at amateur cricketers would be what I'd like to see. Too many bog standard cane pads with different variations of leather on the market. Don't think there's anything much to improve upon in gloves any more (do splits though), but a super light/slim set of pads I would love. Something with an adequate level of protection that's focused on being as unobtrusive to wear as possible, almost like a slimmed down Puma Flextech. Would reluctantly keep the look fairly traditional though purely as that's what sells.

I love anything that comes with sweat absorbent materials, such as towelling on the straps of my pads or the thumbs of gloves, its been such a nice addition on my new gear id struggle to go back.

Im a big fan of these at the moment. Im thinking maybe something similar but more white on the inside of the pads. So like a classic yet modern style.

These have the towelling straps etc. Apologies in advance for the giant photos, photobucket has decided not to play ball.

I would go with those type but with some more colour, like the momentum softs have.
Only change to either style would be a fully coloured wrist band on the gloves and straps on the pads, as those are the parts that catch the eye, GN are a good example of this as everyone recognizes the checkered straps/cuffs, the plain white ones just seems like the lazy/cheap option.

Thanks for the feedback chaps.

Looks like from my twitter poll all white is the leading colour option at the minute.
