First bat complete
« on: July 20, 2016, 12:16:13 PM »

So I finished my first bat, and I'm going to try it out during a 6-a-side tournament on Sunday. Hope it holds together! It's come in at 2lb 10oz after grip, labels etc. It's the same bat as seen in my previous post, but I got hold of a round-bottomed plane and shaved off a couple of ounces with fairly gentle concaving. I also ordered a short run of labels, with my own design.

See the photos below, complete with the obligatory wood shavings. I'd be interested to hear what you think regarding the bat, and also the branding.

Top effort there mate. Hope she goes alright this weekend!

Nice to see a more traditional profile as well. Few and far between these days.

Looks good! Top work.

I hope you get lots of runs with it in the 6-a-side game. It looks more of a classy bat rather than a sloggers one.

I really like the front wood shaving sticker - the edge one doesn't quite work as successfully.

Nice looking bat for a first go. Well done.

Thanks and yeah, you're right, I dropped the small labels now. Less is more. Live and learn!
