Oversized clefts - who can we go to?
« on: August 12, 2016, 05:28:41 PM »

So I'm keen to get a new stick sorted and having looked into the Aussie GNs I've fallen for the XP-70/80 shape - do we know who in the UK would be able to make one similar to this?  I'm presuming they'll need to come from oversized clefts hence me asking, would also like to keep the price around the £200 mark (or below) if at all possible!

I can make you something. All depends on weight and grade really

I've actually got one part shaped already in a similar shape

H4l sell clefts one ebay of the oversized nature, so if you find a shaver willing to work with it, anyone could make really.

It's not £200, but it's a beauty.

Also not the XP shape, but GN UK are bringing out two huge bats for 2017, similar to the Warner replica shapes seen from GN Aus.

Cheers for all the suggestions!

Also @Vitas Cricket you're right, it is lovely - just 375 notes is pushing it for me I'm afraid!

@InternalTraining it's just shy of 2'13. I think there is a reasonable bow but will need to check, I'm not back in til Monday. Please email jake@vitascricket.co.uk to discuss

To me Matt at H4L is the obvious answer.

He had the Tempo Mk1. I've got no idea why I sold mine.

They are very hard to get right by hand (B3 have an easy life ;-) ), so expect to pay a little extra.

You go down the 'storm damaged cleft' route to keep the costs way down but I think normally the storm damage only really reveals itself during the bat making process after a profile has been chosen.

Great looking sticks! Very tempting to get one myself!
