Warsop Cricket
« on: August 16, 2016, 09:25:25 AM »

Hello All,

Despite having purchased one of the Vitas Hunts County and a B3 in the flash sale, I can't help but keep looking at Warsop bats. I played against a chap on Sunday who had one and it seemed to pick up nicely, but haven't seen too much about them on the forum (my go-to source for all bat information!) Does anyone have any opinions/verdicts etc?

Thanks!

always been a quite well regarded bat maker as far as I am aware. However, haven't had one in years so not sure about the standard today

I played in the Essex league for a short while and they were everywhere - can't say I heard a bad word about them performance wise!

really nice people and company, they make some great bats and their range of softs is very good as well

if you can get down to their workshop to have a look around i'd definitely recommend it

if it were me i'd stick to the Platinum price point because they go like the clappers and are really nice bits of willow, i'm not sure you gain much more from the Marlin or Inspire 152 price points

Having now used their bats for the past three seasons, I'd strongly recommend them. Best bats i've ever had! Went to their workshop every time to pick out my bat. Normally end up going for one's not stickered up nowadays and apply my own but they have plenty of bats at the workshop. Smaller than you'd think! They do seem to have majority 2lb 9oz and above! Got told my bat choice was "far too light" for me apparently but it was a 2lb 8oz wand

Always wanted to buy a used platinum but never found any with a chunky profile at 2.8 or less.
I only heard good things about Warsop bats.

Ive got a mate who loves his bats. He has used bats from most of the sponsors on here, along with top range offerings from Kookaburra,GN,GM etc. According to him nothing compares to his Warsop Platinum and he always goes back to using it sooner or later and sells his other bats on. In fairness his Warsop is an absolute cannon.

Let me know when he gets a new Warsop and is ready to sell the current one (as long as it's not broken).

Anyone know if this is the correct website to purchase one from?

http://www.handmadebats.co.uk/store/

Pretty tempting to get a Platinum, very good prices from a small established brand. :)

100% recommend Warsop, has quite a bit of kit from them in the past, a look around their workshop is always a treat, plus you never know which pro you will bump in to......but my money is on it being Alistair Cook !

Thought Gray Nics made his actual bats as well as sponsoring? Fairly sure they've tweeted pictures in the past...

Cooky used to  live near Warsop (belive his parents still do), not sure whether he just pays a visit or gets a stick but seen him in there on a fair few occasions, along with a number of the Essex team.
