Major Brands: Who makes them?
« on: August 28, 2016, 08:43:14 AM »

Hi guys,

I saw a thread of traits of certain batmakers, and was wondering if anyone had any info of who makes the major brands top models? I think in the past there has been RPC making some Pumas, B3 making some for others etc? I know Hunts do a few for other brands.

With it being the sale time of year, and me going through yet another bat on Saturday (hit the finest of cover drives - straight at the man - never have I hit one as sweet then after that, it was a plank) I'm in the market for a fresh stick! It might be that I find something in a sale I like (although don't want to spend too much), but it maybe I go custom.

If anyone has info please let me know! (2lb 8 - 2lb 10 area for me!)

Thanks

Have a look here and see if anything tickles your fancy. :)

I'd just like to point out that at their price points, B&S probably offer the best value for money in the premium end. ;)

Not sure you will get too much information about who makes bats for who as putting this info out there may cause issues for the makers etc.

If you are looking custom though or Boutique then have a look on our site www.thecricketboutique.co.uk or drop us a message.

Cheers

True true - was wondering if some of the badgers knew more so than a maker!

@dannyhall04  - thanks mate, but I'm going to get a fresh stick - that'll sell quickly though. El Capitan at my club has an RPC and it's an absolute weapon.

Will keep the hunt going! Borrowing a "Honey Badger" off the OS for Saturday - used my stick on Saturday, and one flew to the boundary - never hit a ball so well. After that, bang, it was absolutely useless!

Why not come and have a look at where bats are made and factory tour - obviously the tour would end up in the gift shop;-)

I can wholeheartedly recommend visiting B3 in person, like a trip to Disney World for us kit badgers!

No worries mate! I thought it'd sell too but had no bites so far! Really is a beautiful bat.
You won't go wrong with visiting b3 if you're close enough. It's an education, going round the factory

@dannyhall04 Close enough... Well I did visit Jake at Vitas for a custom Hunts and I'm from Harrogate (nr Leeds) so no distance is too far for this badger!

Those B3 white stickers could be a temptation, but I'm a top-badger, so like having the best of the best - especially with this belief that it will make up for my lack of talent..! £375 for a bespoke may be out of my reach.

The white ones are unreal aren't they. They weren't available when I got mine, but thinking of asking for them when I send it back for a refurb!

Do it - pretty stickers definitely equate to runs in my experience.

I think you'd be able to get a G1 for £330 - we have lots of pre made bats in the showroom, we could obviously make you one to order. I would recommend a visit even if you don't want to buy.

Also G2's might be an option and offer incredible value for money. Mentioning no names but our two's are better than a lot of ones I have seen ;-)
