Newbery 2017 Range
« on: September 08, 2016, 09:37:12 AM »

Couple of pictures sneaking out of Lord's via their Twitter page

There's the Force, Triumph and the blue bat which look to be new

How can a company go from being so classy, producing the most in demand bat stickers in their Cadbury range, go to producing bats that wouldn't look out of place in a kids beach cricket set. Not a fan in case you hadn't guessed

This is very good

Both the kit and the fact that Newbery is giving us access

Not a fan of the orange, the rest of the range looks decent though, you can tell they're bound to be quality sticks mind.

Oh my eyes!!!

Two thoughts. Force is bright. Fire the dude on grip duty!

Looks like that is the grip design but also looks like a dodgy grip application.

Some of the colours look interesting. Is that hanging bat a triumph? What is the light blue bat?

Quite like these, not sure about the blue rinse labelling though.

Newbery have lost the plot IMO - used to be one of the epitomes of style, now just look like cheap asian imports!

WTF is that sparkly blue monstrosity on the right?

Not a fan of the re-vamped Newbery branding at all.
They used to ooze class, like a classic suit. Sticking to the clothing theme, they now remind me of a bloke having a mid life crisis. He may think buying a flash car and "trendy" clothes makes him look cool, but to everyone else it looks like a sad attempt to appeal to a younger audience!

Shocking attention to detail on the grip front, msaying that my Blitz came with a random non matching grip.
Opposite end of the spectrum from GMs 2017 range looks wise in my opinion.

The thing I've never really understood is that GM and Newbery make their bats in a very similar way (admittedly the Newbery machine is older, having originally made Slazenger bats) but both are at complete opposite ends of the spectrum in marketing them.

One is all about saying how they are handmade, whereas the other is keen to mention how high tech and DXM it is.

What happened to the @StrettonFox Sports / Newbery collaboration?? Only thing I was genuinely looking forward to!
