Laver and Wood Special Reserve
« on: September 14, 2016, 10:50:23 PM »

Hi all

With everyone posting their Toby Richardson specials, its given me the prod to finally post some pictures of my Laver.

This was bought from another forum member a while back (you may work out who from the pictures) but I've not got round to using it yet.

Not the prettiest bat in the world. 7 grains, heartwood on the right handers outside edge and a few blemishes on the face. The handle is a rather thin, oval down the bottom and has the carbon/honeycomb stuff in the (rather short) bobble at the end.

I haven't taken any measurements of the bat, but I did put it on the scales! For the record it has 1.5 chevron grips applied.

Looks solid. Is there a camouflaged dog in one of the photos? Good ping?

How did you spot her, even I had to look twice to confirm Tammie was in one of the pictures!  ;)

It taps up reasonably well, but I won't claim it tom any lights out or damaged the ceiling. It still has the trademark "tinny" sound you get with Lavers, so I feel it needs a bit more knocking and playing in. It feels good in the hands and responds well, so should be a decent bat.

shows 2'8 on the handle but now on scales at 2'11.5 . What have you been feeding it?
