Hunts County Tsunami & Spirit tidy up
« on: September 15, 2016, 09:50:41 PM »

Hi all

Just a quick one, this will be updated as I go.

I've acquired a couple of older Hunts County bats that I'm going to tidy up.

Here they are, as they arrived. A Tsunami 5 crown and a Spirit 3 crown. I think these are from around 2004/05, so are rather elderly as far as bats go.

In a word: no!

I don't have a workshop so have to do all my refurbs etc outside. A combination of laziness and awful weather has delayed a few sticks I was planning to tidy up.

Fair enough mate, I can feel that pain haha, as I have to do the same. Hopefully you'll be able to get them done by next Sunday 😉

I had both these models way back, lovely bats both.

Looking at the bat shapes it's a pretty radical change to today's style. If you put a h4l next to these two the hunts are like something your grandad might of used... :)

4 months after receiving these, I've finally made a start on cleaning them up.
I had a quick sand with my orbital, and I plan to go round the stickers by hand to preserve the look of the bats.

As the Tsunami is a funky shape, I have only sanded the face so far.

And the Spirit, I have done the face and the bottom of the back with the orbital. This was as far as i was brave enough to go without risking damage to the stickers.

@FattusCattus it has some rather nice groves taken out of the back. It's actually a rather lovely shape
