Size 6 Bat for Adult Player.
« on: September 20, 2016, 08:17:59 PM »

Hi there,
I'm 5'4 and need a size 6. Naturally most bat manufacturers target size 6 bats as being for junior players so they are also lighter and less 'meaty' with less wood behind the ball. H4L are probably the closest I've seen to full adult specifications but on a junior sized length. By this I mean, big edges, high spine, very small concaving if any at all. I want a bat that can get me a sixes on an adult boundary so I was wondering if this is even possible with a size 6 bat. I was wondering if you could send me any details on your size 6 bats so I can get a better idea of them. Also would you recommend having a SH width bat with size 6 length or would it be better to keep it to size 6 length AND width? Its a big investment for me so im trying to make sure i make the best decision possible. Thanks for your help!!

Would a Harrow size not better suit? You'd be able to get more meat in the bat and I think they're SH width as standard.

Hi there, I'd recommend a Harrow sized bat if you are 5'4.  You will get more wood in the bat

Hi mate, best to drop Matt a call and discuss it, I'm sure he could sort you out with something. You've come to the right place to get an adult spec size 6, lots of excellent bat makers on here who would be willing to accommodate. :)

If you say that H4L are close, why not speak to them? They can make custom length, weight and profile bats? Just an idea.

@JGold  If you are looking for a big size 6 or Harrow then drop us a message. We sold a size 6 at the weekend that was 2.4lb and had big edges etc so we can sort you out if needs be.

Thanks

I would definitely try some of the sponsors. I have a bit of experience with 6's and Harrows because of my son before he had a growth spurt and starting using a SH. When he was about 5'4" we played around with big 6's and Harrows with shortened handles. In the end the better balanced bat was the 6 (2lbs 6oz). The other option is to go with a SSH as we found it was normally the handles that caused the issues catching on the wrist. At the end of the day everyone is different so, as I said at the beginning, talk to the guys that know (B3, H4L, Redink etc) and see what they come up with........or buy loads of different bats and have a play around!

JPgold at your height these specs should work for you Harrow handle thickness 10 3/4 inches long 4 1/4 wide blade (s/h ) 21 1/2 half inches long blade weight 2/ilb 5 or 6 ounces depending on pickup.
The dimensions are neither small men's women's Harrow or size 6

Ooo those Devils do look very tempting indeed. Hows the ping on them compared to the Hellfire models? Or is it literally just the cosmetics that brings the price down?

Devils are Hellfires in terms of profile.

Devils are marked down because they don't meet the criteria for H4L's normal lowest grade, grade 2.

Reasons for this are normally severe cosmetic imperfections, and/or very few, widely spaced grains. None of these factors impact on performance. Every bat is different of course but there are a number of happy devil owners on the forum.

Sorry to be a pain but what are the measurements of the blades and overall length on the size 6 and harrow Devils? Also the edge and spine. Thanks for your help :)

For 85 quid, a H4L bat and Vitas' customer service I wouldn't worry about the specs, it's pretty much guaranteed to be a quality stick!
