B3 DB2's from Aussie VIP sale
« on: September 28, 2016, 04:15:21 AM »

Got my 2 DB2's from the Aussie VIP sale yesterday and am very pleased :)

They feel good in my hands and tap up really well. The 2701 isn't knocked in but feels better in terms of response than the knocked in 2201 to me. The 2201 also has a sharper spine into the handle and a much more oval handle with cork inserts in the handle in lieu of rubber in the 2701 and the end knob bit is also bigger on the 2201. I assume the 2701 was made later so perhaps their handles have changed since then. Other than that they are obviously identical.

The 2701 is 2lb10.4oz's on my scales and the 2201 is 2lb9.4oz's. To me the 2701 feels lighter than the 2201 even though it's an oz heavier but it's nothing crazy or anything like that. Edges and spine heights are virtually identical too at 34mm and 55mm respectively.

Cannot beat the quality for the price on these. If you were in Aus and on the fence, I'd say definitely go for it
(side note - these will go great with my verve gloves I just bought too :D)

Dwarfed by your Custom 50+ though ;)

I think so. I like to think it'll stop me buying more but I think that's already a lost cause

Disappointed by your sneakered feet, but good looking bats.

Haha it does seem to be taboo on here. Missus likes my feet too much so for her eyes only  ;)

Already seen one of the other bats from the sale on gumtree for a fair bit more than they bought it for haha. Ah well, each to their own.

in the process on knocking mine in, picked up a bespoke 3 stripe for 250, same quality bat from GCCC would cost about 800, easy decession really

Yeah I thought about a 3 stripe but two for a similar price was pretty good haha
