England vs SA Final Test
« on: January 14, 2010, 08:24:29 AM »

Great chance for us to win this series now, but a but surprised with Onions being dropped. I thought hes bowled well this series and has been more than useful with the bat...
Also interesting to see Sa dropping Harris and opting for McClaren. No frontline spinner and the inexperice of Wayne Parnell, a great oppurtunity for England!

they are harping on about Cook's dismissal being a noball on the radio, but does anyone who saw it disagree

I thought, unfortunately that it was fine.

the law says...
http://www.lords.org/laws-and-spirit/laws-of-cricket/laws/law-24-no-ball,50,AR.html
5. Fair delivery - the feet
For a delivery to be fair in respect of the feet, in the delivery stride
(i) the bowler's back foot must land within and not touching the return crease.
(ii) the bowler's front foot must land with some part of the foot, whether grounded or raised, behind the popping crease.
If the umpire at the bowler's end is not satisfied that both these conditions have been met, he shall call and signal No ball

Please mate.... if you wanna use that excuse uve got rocks in your head. If you bat three, you should be raring to go from the first ball. Just because he came in 2nd ball of the innings doesnt give him an excuse to say he was unsure, and start playing flashy drives and then on his dismissal, which you can debate was terrible, try and whip a new ball bowler who you havent middled yet through mid wicket off middle stumps in the 2nd over when your 1/5.

England have fought hard in this series to  get to where they are, very hard, and soft dismissals like that in situations like undo alot of the good work

Is food all you think about?

Not happy with Darryl Harper the mans a fool, howver Strauss has shown a good bit of captaincy by not loosing it - my toys would have been out of the pram straight away!!!

Just about - can you tell Oliver and Belle that they'll have their toys back next time i see them......i think the pram is an upgrade on the ax mind you.

Harper is the worst umpire in test cricket -not my words, the words of Boycott (the voice of reason)!

Just tuned in at 64-4,  so was Strauss and Cook out in dubious circumstances?  I assume the Saffers got our Saffers out legitimately!

I believe Olly's toy of choice is a Knocking in mallet!

Wouldnt really put it as a soft dismissal, Pietersen's was however...
Hmmm yes will we make it to lunch? Bell could prove some critics wrong again, which would be nice.

From the sounds of it England have made a mistake in picking sidebottom - from what the tms team have said about the pitch i think onions would get more out of it.........also, i just dont rate sidebottom, he is an average county bowler and always will be.
