Garrard and Flack - fifty seven
« on: October 09, 2016, 06:03:39 PM »

Hi all

I saw this bat on the Garrard & Flack stock sale advertised on twitter.

Having seen the basic specs:
SH-Standard Blade
Grade 1 'Supreme' Willow
2lb 9oz
Low-Mid Middle

And the Cost
£150!!

I couldn't resist it after a few emails to and fro with extra pics etc. I've added some of my own poor photography efforts below. It's got a 34mm edge and a 64mm spine and the pick up is excellent and well balanced. I'm really impressed with the overall finish too at whilst the stickers look simple they are embossed and of high quality. The ping is superb too

All I'm in very impressed with the guys at Garrard & Flack

The two lads make a good bat. Their softs are a bit on the pricey side. Their bats have started to make an impact in the local leagues. Nice blokes who are very accommodating with any bat shape request.

That's a steal, like the shape at the shoulder also.

I'm sure I've seen shoulders like that before, I can't think where though...

At least you didn't highlight the 's's in shoulders

Like the look of them, but I can't take my eyes away from that toe - must be at least a 5mm difference on each side?

Some would say, like with Laver & Wood, that having a non symmetrical toe is one of the quirks/inconsistencies of a handmade bat

Am I the only one that looks at the stickers first, and thinks "would I be happy to use that?" ?

I know I shouldn't make buying decisions on what the stickers look like, but a little bit of aesthetic is important.  That's the reason I like B3, B&S, etc. as they are nice but understated.  A the opposite end, and equally less attractive, are the more garish GNs, Kooks etc.

I'm sure the bat is lovely, but the sticker design does nothing for me at all.

Personally i love them, and the retro Hunts and Pyton Retro stickers.
