Duck and Run Bag Review
« on: October 11, 2016, 08:40:12 PM »

On the recommendation of a fellow forum member I picked up the following bag

http://www.duckandrun.co.uk/Cricket-Luggage/Duck-and-Run-Fortitude-Players-Wheelie-Kit-Bag/details

and thought I would attempt my first ever review.

Firstly the colour scheme is classy and subtle in black and silver.

It is well padded and made of what appears to be a good hard wearing material with big chunky zips.

In addition to the large main section it has 3 padded bat pockets on the outside (2 on one side and 1 one the other), 1 pocket on the end and 3 smaller outside pockets on one of the long sides under the bat pocket.

It has 3 wheels which is a nice touch as it feels a lot more stable when wheeling it along (although I am yet to try it on uneven surfaces) and it also has an extendable suitcase handle.

I have managed to fit my puma boots (the high top ones that I can't remember the name of as I've had them so long) in the end pocket so that should be able to take most other spikes on the market. The main section has enough space to take batting pads, gloves, thigh pad set, helmet, wicket keeping pads, keeping gloves and a full set of whites including 2 jumpers. The outside pockets are good for toiletries, balls, grips etc.

Now for the negative bits, the suitcase handle is mounted on the outside of the bag so may be susceptible to damage with careless handling. Although I have managed to fit my boots into the end pocket they are a very tight fit.

I would have liked a touch more space in the main compartment as my kit is a rather snug fit in there. A separate boot section and/or helmet section would have been a nice touch but I understand that these things also impact on available space elsewhere in the bag.

There is no 'valuables' section either (not that I would ever leave valuables in my bag in the changing room.

All in all it seems to be a very good bag at the price I paid, whether it is worth the usual price I couldn't say as I have not seen any other bags in that price range due to the lack to decent sports shops in my local area.

Thanks for the review. I looked at the bag on the website yesterday and was tempted. Your review has put me off a little bit.

Not that I'm overly superstitious or anything, but having any kit with the word duck on is enough to put me off... :-[

Not really as run is the singular.
