That's very telling! The fact that nearly everyone on the forum holds the same opinion about Hales!
In my book he is a quality ODI player but (how can I put this diplomatically) there are better options for Test matches!

Hales might be worth a shot down the order, don't think he's got enough ticker to open in Test matches.

Hales might get a spot in England's middle order but I think he will get overtaken by others so therefore left with one day cricket-and he's a shoe in for that.
Jos Butler will get picked before him I reckon

Duckett i'd bet my house(don't have one) will be 4 or 5 for us going forward, with Hameed opening.

Quite how quickly that MIGHT happen is anyones guess.

I still don't believe we have taken Hameed on tour for 3 months without intending to play him in a Test....
