South Africa 371-6 with a lead of 369. Gotta be deflating see QdK rock up at 7 averaging 51 when your getting ground down. 450 is probably what du Plessis would be satisfied with

Likely to be all out for 420 odd.
Going to be a great day tomorrow

SA should just bat till the end. Whatever they get will be less with only 3 bowlers (including 1 rookie spinner) and 2 days to go, hard to defend on pitch like this.

They're a bowler light but I'm not sure why the Saffers haven't bothered declaring

Great reverse swing bowling from rabada. Getting it to go both ways and voges was clueless

Big win for South Africa being one bowling down and having to use cook/bavuma.

The Aussies look a little in trouble. What have they got to turn it around?

South Africa claimed perhaps their most famous victories by winning the first Test by 177 runs. Australia battled hard  scoring 361 in their second innings. Khawaja 97 and Nevill 60*. The undoubted star was Kagiso Rabada with 5-92, this chap is a superstar in the making. South Africa snapped Australia's 18 match unbeaten run at home. The last home defeat was in 2012, also at the WACA and also to South Africa. For Australia it will a very bitter loss. Dominated the fist 4 sessions only for the wheels to totally fall off. Bearing in mind South Africa sans de Villiers, lost Steyn and their star batsman Amla only scored 1 and yet South Africa won by a massive 177 runs. Maharaj was probably the unsung hero for South Africa bowling 40 overs in the second innings going at only 2 rpo, comfortably out bowled Lyon, who posed no threat at all. Wouldn't be surprised if du Plessis got influenced to play the SLA after years of playing with Dhoni and Jadeja...

Australia have called up Joe Burns and Callum Ferguson t for the second Test, Shaun Marsh out with broken finger. South Africa have called up Dwaine Pretorius to replace Dale Steyn.

Big questions for Australia heading to Hobart, team configuration and what kind of surface will they want. If it's a green seamer I can't see Australia having chance against this South African seam attack. Australia have issues with bowling as well, Starc is a shoe in, but Hazlewood, Siddle and Marsh aren't much threat bowling gentle medium pace...

well.....first up well done SA, winning without their premier bowler.....

before this match there was some nonsense spouted from the Aussies that one of their better bowlers was dropped because he didn't get enough runs.

this is total folly when picking a club side let alone an international team. Your bowlers will win test matches, it's been proved time and again thru history. pick the best batsmen available to Australia and the best bowlers. If you don't have quality all rounders to call on this is the only way to win matches.

The best Australian teams ive watched have had the best bowlers, it's time someone shook up the thinking surrounding the team. Lehman and the selectors are accountable and they need to start being accountable for their decisions

Am i right in saying the skipper is still not involved in selection?

Marsh out injured with a broken finger - probably a shame for South Africa. How many injuries has he had??

Aussies call up Ferguson and burns. Not sure Ferguson has done anything to get a call up?
Surprised Lyon keeps his place, was pretty poor in sri lanka and again this test match - good bloke selection policy

Can we start to call Smith a poor captain? I always had a hunch but I really don't think he's the right man to take them forward.
