NZ v Pakistan
« on: November 10, 2016, 04:18:45 PM »

I believe Pakistan are due to kick off their NZ tour tomorrow.

Who do people think will win the test series?

Pakistan have a good record in tests in NZ. But NZ also now a very good test outfit and surely likely to pose questions.

should be good. NZ after being stuffed in India will want to put right some results.

Pak have done it the hard way(getting to no 1) by getting out of their home conditions.

Pak did well over here, admittedly Lords and the Oval didn't move around much, but it should be seaming tracks in NZ.

This is the test PAK needs.....

Pak seemed to struggle v Windies bowling short pitched stuff at them in the last test. So definitely this will be an intriguing battle.

Some inexperienced faces in the NZ squad too. Guptill, Bracewell, Patel, Ronchi and Sodhi all left out and Jeet Raval, Colin de Grandhomme and Todd Astle called up.

Will be a really good contest. I think they'll be fairly evenly matched in NZ conditions and even more so if Pakistan learned lessons from the England tour.

About time guptill was dropped...Ross Taylor is lucky to be playing still. Much rather we go with a youngster than Taylor's experience. He's woefully out of form

Believe jeet raval was suppose to be the overseas pro this season for harefield cc but got the nz call up

Backing the Kiwis to win comfortably. Pakistan fast bowlers aren't as potent as New Zealand's(Amir doesn't seem to have that old magic at present) and Yasir Shah isn't a big spinner of the ball so shouldn't be too much threat. Neil Wagner's short ball barrage should be too much for Pakistan

About time guptill was dropped...

I think he is a pretty decent bat - hope he will get some form as I do enjoy watching him bat when he is batting well!

I think Pakistan will struggle a bit. NZ quick bowling is much better- they have the advantage. Unless pitches started drastically on day 3 I cant see Pakistan winning.

I am curious to see how Mohammad Amir fares. He has flashes of brilliance but haven't had the same venom for which he was termed as a prodigy.

He has had enough time so should be fine now. PCB has invested a lot in him so they can rightfully expect results.

^ He has had a lot of dropped catches since he started bowling in the international arena.

I wonder how come they were just dropped on his bowling!! Not sure if it was deliberate!

A real test of Pakistani top 3 bats. They will have to deal with Southee, Henry and Boult. I am curious to see how Sohail Khan bowls given his natural swing action and poor fitness. Aamir has the chance to take top order wickets. Also looking forward to Warne's theory of when it seams it spins for Yasir Shah.

Should be a good test series. Just a huge shame Pakistan haven't had any warm up game prior to the first test. The one and only game scheduled, was rained off.
